I liked my SVT Focus so much I went and bought the latest version of it. So far this car is a blast to drive and has a nice interior for it's price. I'm planning on getting a tune and leaving it at that, it's a daily driver.

Nope... but I've managed mid 30's plenty of times. The car handles unbelievably... not at all like FWD car. I'm running a Steeda tune on mine. It made a big difference, especially in the torque department.

I wonder which relative might be inclined to follow suit I think you picked the right color too. Look into LMS for your tune as well. I got there tune on my TT sho and it absolutely transformed the car to what I thought it should be from the factory. It's not so much the power and torque (which was tremendous) but the shifting is crisp and precise. I can't tell you the amount of cars I've surprised in it, and people! Awesome purchase, make sure you check out the ecoboost sites.

I don't think I'll be doing any track days in this car. While it does handle amazingly well, even better than the SVT, it's still FWD and it has some limitations. Namely the front wheels doing most of the work. I took it up highway 84 yesterday and it does really well but too much power to the front wheels is not as fun as to the rear wheels.
I am looking into tunes. COBB, Steeda and FSwerks are the most popular right now. Ford Racing just released their tune. The 5.0 magazine ST just installed that tune with some minor bolt ons and put down over 250hp and 340tq at the wheels.
Greg, Mark will no doubt copy me. He followed me to our jobsite and he followed my car!

I love the Focus ST. I'm also a huge fan of the Fiesta ST's as well. They are about the size of the old SVT Focus.
Ford did well on those ST's.

I think the car would do well on a track but auto x would be a problem. It really struggles to put the power down out of tighter/slower corners. I know Quaiffe makes a limited slip diff that makes a world of difference but it's a grand installed.

Rear motor mount mod is the first thing I'd do...I test drove a couple, just couldn't get past the violent banging

My SVT Focus got an average of 25mpg over the time I had it.
The 2014s built after 8/2013 were supposed to have the updated rear motor mount installed from the factory. I have a suspicion mine was not. I have to get under there and check. It's a TSB so it's a free fix.
