Looking at getting some coilovers for the 5.0 and not sure what to get. I'm looking between Eibach R1, R2, and KW V3.

I've never had coilovers and I'm not well versed in suspension in general.

So what's the difference between the kits? I'm obviously looking to go low but it's my DD so I want a confortable ride.

here are the links for American muscle:

http://www.americanmuscle.com/eibach-multipror1-coilover-1112.html
http://www.americanmuscle.com/eibach-multipror2-coilover-1112.html
http://www.americanmuscle.com/kws-v3-coilover-0514gtv6.html

I found a set of each used...
R1 - $850 (1000 miles)
R2 - $800 (unknown mileage, fronts never used)
V3 - $1400 (unknown mileage)

Let's hear it!

Look into the reviews. Most of the time quality cost money and I would rather pay more now than later. I dd a new edge with front and rear mm coilovers and it sits lower than I can go with springs. If you are not going for a substantial drop I would not do it. Slammed mustangs look so nice though....

Yes I want to go low as possible, can't afford bags, and want to know the difference as some of these are single adjustable or double adjustable etc

Yeah fuck that I'd be modding the motor for that price, but not everyone wants to go fast. Good luck on your upgrades.

Id like to go fast later but not now honestly. Say what you will, being 22 the car is enough for me with simple bolt ons...I was originally saving for a TVS blower set up but with my ticket recently it puts my job on the line...I'm gonna stay clear of high performance upgrades until some stuff drops off my record in September

I would suggest talking to Ground Control. Suspension is all they do and they are good at it.

The lower you go the more uncomfortable the ride will be. I always sacrifice ride quality since I like to be slammed and tucking tire. Are you into Maximum Motorsport at all?

You stick with this attitude, you'll do well. Make the car handle first, then do the power mods. The car is very fast right out of the box so make it stick first. You're on the right path....stick to it. Most people do the opposite on this site and I understand it, but it doesn't make any sense.

But then you can't make stupid power and blame a shitty 60' times on no tires and a lack of suspension...... [Razz]

To the OP. Buy the best kit you can afford. The more adjustments the more you will be able to adjust ride quality. I like slammed cars..... But I'd rather have a car that sits a little bit higher and rides better. But I'm over 30 now so I'm a grumpy old man.

Looks like I'll be going with the R1 kit. Got a deal I can't pass on and they are adequate for my driving habits. Should have them purchased AND installed Monday [Big Grin] [Big Grin]

Also trying to have my wheels and tires by next month, I think I'll pick up some MPSS 305s.....
