Details on the car?
When I used to play the smog game with my 5.0 a couple things to help it pass.
* A good fresh set of cats is a huge help. * tune up- timing set to stock, fresh plugs, air filter. * If the car has a bunch of miles on it, id also do a SeaFoam treatment, through the vacuum line that connects to the brake booster. * Id also grab a gallon of Tolune and mix it in with a tank of 91. * If you have electric fans, id pull the fuse on my fans and let it heat up to 220 degrees and then put it on the rollers.
I had a older setup in terms of today, but I had a B303 cam, Edlebrock heads/intake, shorty headers and I could get it to pass.

i told him about the cats, and so far the best estimate i got was 200 parts and labor, good?...i also told him to atleast change out the oil, oil filter, and air filter. Oh, and dump some "guaranteed to pass" in the tank.
i asked him if he drove around for a bit to heat up the cats, he didnt. so thats another thing he will end up doing before the re-test. thanks [ 2013-12-12, 09:23 AM: Message edited by: fredfifty ]

figure out what the miss fire is, plugs, wires, coil, air leak, cap, rotor, broken wire, dirty mass air, theres alot more than plugs for a miss fire. its hardly ever plugs unless there gapped wrong.
