Have had Comcast forever, think about changing since they will not give me an X1 DVR w/o phone service, who do you have and why do you like them.

The 2 dvrs are not hd right? I downgraded my Comcast triple play to 50 mbps high speed Internet and one gay ass non hd box with starter package and on demand no premium channels for $80 a month.

It all comes down to your internet services. TV is tv unless you want certain sport packages that certain providers offer.
All services are comparable and not one is better than the other on paper. It really just comes down to your neighborhood. After your promotional period is over the price will sky rocket no matter what service you get.
Comcast is awesome if your neighbors have a different service or not uploading/downloading every porn movie known to mankind. Comcast shares a line to a section of your neighborhood. If nobody is eating up the bandwidth the line is incredibly fast for what you pay. I have a 50 mbps line but during peak hours it drops below 10 mbps. In the middle of the night it's 42 mbps. Comcast tells me they have a guaranteed speed but it's bull shit most of the time. You will just end up calling customer service every week(which I did) and speaking to the customer rep and eventually the retention department and they will give you credit.
It's a 30 min call every single time while they run a bandwidth test, line quality test and tell you to reboot your modem. From that point they will send a technician out but of course the tech will come during the day and find nothing wrong. You will have to call again and they will run their test again and finally send you over to the retention department for your credit. Comcast knows the bandwidth is just simply being using but will never admit it. They will just continue the same cycle until you give up or switch services.
If uverse advertises a speed of 20 mbps it is a guaranteed speed that you get all the time. Usually it is slightly more expensive as well. Although it's not as good as 50 mbps you have to keep in mind you don't always get that 50 mbps with comcast. The only problem I had with uverse is everything connects through one modem and line and I hate their built in router.

Cable is such a damn scam man they all get you one way or the other but we can't live without it, If I was you I'd consider Uverse went to it after being with Dish for years and definitely like the service.

Had Direct Tv for 10+ years, wife got laid off so i was looking for a loyalty discount. Pretty much was told to suck it. Went with Dish....nightmare... immediately went back to Direct, got 2 years discounted price. Now bundled internet and Tv with Uverse. Starting on the 14th. will see how that goes. I hate switching providers, its a pain in the ass, and every tech installs differently.

I went from comcast/direct tv to att a couple weeks ago. Amazing when your a comcast/direct tv customer they won't give you any breaks when you call to renegotiate until you call to cancel service. Uverse seems okay so far and I'm locked I for 2yrs on a 2yr contract. I did notice the Internet is slower than comcast but not too bad. My iPhone LTE is faster sometimes though. Still saving $60 a month for more channels and HD.

I have Comcast for Internet and direct tv for cable. Gotta say the Comcast is pretty legit, i just Upgraded my internet to 50 mps. The only bad thing about Comcast is that you can't negotiate after your promotion expires, they do try to upgrade your Internet though. As for direct tv, they do give discounts but it depends on the person you talked to lol.
