Anybody suffering from it and if you have/are getting treated via CPAP (breathing machine), how is it working out? How long have you been on it?
Are you getting treated using a different method?
Surgery?

My Dad has that machine. He uses it nightly. For the first couple days it was uncomfortable but now it's not a problem. It's such a small deal, that I forgot all that existed until this thread. So don't stress.

My mom runs a sleep study clinic out of Hayward so my opinion may be biased. I do hear a lot of success stories mostly from the patients' spouse.
The mask does feel uncomfortable at first but most get used to it quickly, especially if you finally get a good nights rest out of it. There are some who can't get used to it and remove it in their sleep. I've seen some patients use their CPAP for years and it becomes part of their regular routine.
I would suggest to make an appointment. Sometimes sleep apena is not the cause. There are other factors that could prevent you from sleeping. There are a lot of truckers that come in because they are required by law. A lot of times they are just overweight and are not breathing properly while sleeping. I heard two cases where the guy had a deviated septum and didn't know it. It could be anything.

yea i actually did the overnight sleep study and have been tested to have moderate OSA.
The therapist really lays it on you though and says "you are all here because while you were sleeping, you stopped breathing at several points during sleep for atleast 10 seconds" kinda scary lol
but she also says it can cause depression, high blood pressure, etc...
ive been good so far, but i do snore (says wifey) and i get tired in the daytime resulting from a lack of a good nights sleep.
i couldnt believe how many women have OSA and it seems that it can get serious, i plan on re-routing from that early on...time to work out more.

I use the machine. I love it and so does my wife. Yes takes a couple of days to get use to. I never slept on my back, but you almost have to with the machine.
