I don't have a Harley, but I did switch from sportbikes to a cruiser (Honda Shadow Aero, about as close to a Harley as you can get).
I loved sportbikes and still do. I loved my RC51. But I fell off a bike and fractured one of my vertebrae and have frequent lower back pain now. Riding a sportbike just wasn't possible any more. Switching to a more upright seating position helped.

Beautiful bikes just wanted to let you know I do custom audio on baggers if your co-workers are interested or if you end up with one and need some custom stereo work done I fabricate some high end systems on these bad boys.

2011 road glide here. I had a R1 and a GSXR before. I feel alot more comfortable on a harley and like the way it looks, and sounds. plus its kinda cool being able to ride on long trips with my girl cruising listening to music. You generally get more thumbs up and alot more looks when your riding a clean bagger. I do kinda miss hitting corners on a strretbike but I enjoy the harley ALOT more

In in that stage in life doing wheelies is cool. Just kinda wana stop while Im ahead. Insurance on Harley's is cheaper from what I've heard. If I buy a Harley I'd like one from the dealer since they cost over 10k and I don't feel like dishing out that much all at once

There was nothin like rollin my street glide especially once I got the 21/18 black spokes on the bitch but with only one good leg, a kid and a wife I sold it before it got me in even more trouble. I miss it but its kinda bitter sweet.

I sold my Harley, but before my Harley I had a couple Ninjas. What made me switch? The local Harley dealer had what they called Demo Days. They took their entire rental fleet and as long as you had an M1 you could go for about a 10 mile ride on as many bikes as you wanted, all day long! I rode as many as possible, but ultimately wound up liking the softail.
After that I picked up a 95 Heritage Softail 80" and beefed it up. Head work, carbs, cams, exhaust etc. My favorite part was the amount of cool stuff you could buy. I had bags, windshield, a couple seats etc and they only took minutes to put on or take off.
Maintenance? Just the normal. Change oil/filter, clean carb filter, fuel filter. Mine never leaked or had any other problems... of course other than taking about 3 hours to polish all the chrome.

Get a fxdx.I went from an R1 to a built bagger to a dyna. By far the dyna is a good compromise in regards to having a harley that can handle... [ 2013-05-29, 08:26 AM: Message edited by: Pcharged46 ]

Ill kill myself on a street bike, to quiet for the cars around you, and to much cop attention. cause we all know to avoid accidents its rider skill, AND the drivers you have to keep an eye out for, and a loud exhaust helps.
I chase down Crotch Rockets on this pig... built from a wrecked (clean title) heritage, now appropriately titled The Bomber... coming along piece by piece, hardly ever buy factory.. never left me stranded and been ridden to Sturgis twice. 45k on the clock now.
I know it aint your typical chrome and leather Harley but i'm not your typical rider either. i just like to ride been doing it since i was 5.
