If you want to be a cop its a good route to go. Most guard company's are paying 14 starting. Find a job in a good area and you will find it kick back. Most security firms pay according to experience. I did allot of night shifts in office buildings and warehouses. Also did gate security at some gated communities. If you do unarmed and don't mind a ton of overtime, try and get a Flex Officer position. You basically cover anybody that calls in sick or does not show. I was getting $16/hr at my last job but I was putting in quite a few 100hr work weeks.
