Drive shaft for the oil pump before I did , just put heads and cam in my car . Lasted a week before this happend I'm thinking the pump seized because its twisted like a blacksmithed hand rail crazy!!!! [ December 17, 2012, 10:32 PM: Message edited by: Sikwidit-blumaxx88 ]

Seems like that motor gives you nothing but problems. Time for a new one!

Yes I've had it happen twice, still have one of the driveshafts.

This happened to me on one of my first coupes , it was a mild hci build and had the ARP oil pump driveshaft to!.. well mine didnt snap but when we pulled it out it looked like a twizzler or grape vine!

Yes right out of the box from Summit then the next one I was at 6,000RPM's

I don't think I still have it but I'll look. They're fat in the middle but the ends that go into the oil pump and distributor are small, that's what twisted/broke.

That was years ago with a H/C/I 302 way before my 408.

I'm gonna go arp is it worth it to get a high volume oil pump or should I just stick with a stock pump?

Nodular standard volume pump and arp shaft has supported many many many many 200-1200hp cars......

CHECK UR PICK UP... make sure there isn't any holes in your screen. I had it happen to me about 3 times on my old motor. The screen had a pencil size hole in it and sucked up a tiny piece of rtv and froze the pump.
