I might be looking to get a pickup truck to daily drive and use for towing my Faleen to/from trackdays. I know they are all pretty bad on MPG's, but can you give me your input on the following options: Tundra, Titan, F150, or Silverado. I'd be willing to spend around $7-8K for a crew cab (4-door) in good condition. I do need it to fit 2 car seats in the cab though. I dont really need 4wd, but I guess it'd be nice to have as well.
Please give me your opinions: Best quality, longest lasting, least amount of "known" issues, best MPG's, etc. THANKS!! [ December 14, 2012, 04:36 PM: Message edited by: SydeWaySix ]

Does it have to be a gas motorized truck? Why not a 1995 - 1997 powerstroke f-250 or 350? You can get a really nice one for 7-8k. Look for one with a 5 speed and you'll be problem free. not to mention no smog.
My dream truck has always been a crew cab, 5 speed, short bed, 4x4, powerstroke diesel. [ December 14, 2012, 04:47 PM: Message edited by: MaK_1967v8 ]

only tundra i'd look into would be 07 n newer the older ones i compare with rangers or colorado. the titans are good, but there rear ends are small n over heat. i really dont trust f150's f250 n above yes, so i get a silverado imo best pick up n the "1500" class but 2007 n up tundras 5.7 beats them all

I have 3 company trucks that are 2001-2004 Chevy Silverados. They all have 300-500k plus miles on them. They've all had 2-3 transmissions, 2-3 fuel pumps and an alternator here and there. No other maintenance required. One of them had a cracked radiator. but other than those issues. Reliable to boot.

Neight...no, I still have the mustang.
My first choice was a Tundra because of the reliability of Toyota, but I'm really starting to like the Titan! Also, i am not looking for a diesel, so a power stroke isnt really in consideration.

NO TITIAN. my best friend had one and it was an unreliable pain it the ass. You can get a nice crew cab F150 for a good price. or an older F250-350.

What kind of issues did the Titan have?
What about Dodge Ram 1500? Anyone have any input on these?

I've owned F-150 and Ram can't complain about either so that's what I would buy , the Tundra is cool but overpriced and personally would skip the Titan. I have zero experience with the Silverado so I won't shit on it just because it's a bowtie.
