REMEMBER WHEN CAFORDS WAS HERE TO "HELP" FELLOW MUSTANG/FORD ENTHUSIESTS??????
I have been around this site for a very long time ( since 2001) and I have seen a lot of different aspects of CAFORDS. the good, the bad, and the UGLY!!!!!
I just remember when people were here to help out, give deals , and in a lot of cases give things away to help the cause.
Not any more, people are only out for profit here now. I'm not saying that's a bad thing, but that really should not be the case. I'm not knocking anyone's hustle. But we all joined this site for good help, cheap parts, or just because of being a ford owner.
I know I'm just venting but I just see so much bullshit on here now. People getting over on each other, people posting parts that are used for new prices, then you got the people that just wanna talk shit about people (when they really shouldn't be cause there just as guilty) But they only do it for hopes of obtaining a certain image.
I'm sure everybody on this site can agree with what I said in some form or fashion, but many won't agree. But who cares, it's my rant!!!!
All I can say is let this site go back to what it was 10 years ago, when guys like RED BARON were around helping people, or when RACSIRX had smoking deals (had too Lee no love lost), the young crowd didn't try to sale short blocks with new timing chains for 500 bucks, and people knew what a 93 cobra rearend was lol
I know it will not happen over night, but if people start respecting the hobby again, and use this site for that purpose we can have a old school CAFORDS again

Its pretty ridiculous how much people sell their stuff for here. The biggest one for me is that there are a number of thieves running around the bay area and i'm positive there are people that know about it here but dont want to "snitch".

I've sold parts for dirt cheap even driven far to sell a part real cheap; and Ive gotten help from a few members, for wich im gratefull for. But for the most part u have to keep an eye out on who you deal with here. You can tell alott about a persons character by the way he acts on here.
And yeah I'm also tired of ppl lowballing even tho there getting a great deal. If your that short on ends maybe your #1 priority shouldn't be a project mustang.
And the close to new prices on used parts I hear u it's a mess out here. But if your patient you still can find screaming deals here & there

I half agree with this post. Yes there is a lot of bullshit.... However, there are still some old school guys out there.
Examples: I went back to the track for the first time this summer in 7 years. I had no where to store my extra tires or tools while making passes. Drew from AED, let me use his trailer to leave my stuff in a safe place. Hadn't seen him since I left 7 years ago. Thanks!
Same thing when I went up a second time, Dan let me stick my tires with his stuff so I wouldn't have to worry. Thanks!
I can't even think of all the times my cousin Jon M helped me out. John B, Drew, Shaun, Dan, other Dan, Jonathon, ... the list could go on. There are still good people on here.
I sold and gave away a lot of parts this summer. Someone needed a clutch and flywheel? done I had an extra. Someone bought an intake or whatever from me and I threw in every extra part possible.
I remember over 10 years ago when I joined this site how much people helped me when I knew JACK SHIT about mustangs... Now I can't imagine my life without them. It's a hobby and love that I will keep in my life forever. Thanks to the many people on here that helped me learn, how to wrench, how to drive(real track driving takes practice and learning) and how to know what to buy and not buy.
I don't know about everyone on here but I know about a few. I know that if anyone that I know ever called me for a ride or a helping hand I would be there. Ya I live 2-3 hours away, but fuck it I love driving anyways. Need a part I have and can't afford it just ask. I sell shit for 1/2 what its worth because I just like the people on here. AND because the same thing was done for me 10 years ago when I made very little money but still wanted to make my 87 coupe fast.
So to the person who posted this thread I agree with you. It starts somewhere though. One by one we have to just do what we can to help. I am not saying give everything away. But if you have an extra part you aren't using, just give it to some body or give them a good deal on it.
Last night I was out for drinks with a friend and 6 other people I didn't know. The bill was $183.00. No one knew each other real well and figuring out the bill was taking forever, when it got passed by me so I could figure out what "I owed" I quickly grabbed it, handed it to the nearest server and put it all on my card. Not because I make a lot of money... I don't. Not to impress people, I'll never see most those people again. But because it was a nice thing to do for some strangers who shared a couple hours of good conversation with me. The people who had cash actually chipped in pretty good and left me about 100 bucks so really It didn't cost me much at all. Small simple good deeds in life go a long way.
Happy Holidays Cafords!

I know a few guys on here that are standup dudes. I've been given parts and gave parts away. I'm not the type of guy who try's to make a buck off members. I'll try and help Cafords people out as much as I can.
I think the influx of lowballer's have changed the posted pricing. I believe a majority of members are not expecting to get their asking price so they ask more to give themselves a more negotiable start LOL. We can all thank Craigslist for that.

I agree with expensive used parts, their was a guy on here selling some used mufflers with about 2k miles on them for $10 less than what they cost new wtf..I think that a fair price for a used item should be around half of what it cost new.

I have to agree i've given a lot of stuff away dirt cheap. Some stuff for beer just to see somebody else get there car on the road. I feel that everyone is entitled to make some dough on there parts but dont be asking damn near new prices on used stuff. ITS USED.
Ive also been burned by some older posters on here. Some people are legit and others just dont give a damn.

Thats what makes it exciting around here. But to know me a regular black Dude from Oakland can call people like JohnB, Lee, Dan, Steve, and all the others that are actually here to help when needed, makes this site worth wild to me. And actually solve a problem though, those guys are living google that you can talk too lol
