Long story short, I have a car that sat since 2007 and just started driving it last week. Ive changed the oil, coolant, spark plugs and distributor look good. Brake and power steering fluid are good as well.
It had little less than 1/4 of gas in it still and ran it, obviously now has new gas. What about the fuel filter?
Im just curious to see what you guys would do.
Thanks CaFords.

Change every fluid every filter. I would have sprayed some wd in each cylinder thru the plug hole rotated the motor by hand. If its carbed i would have pulled it cleaned it inspect it. If it had points i would have thru a new set in. Inspect the tires for cracks drain remaining gas shit turns into turpintine. Change diff fluid lube and grease all brushings etc.

^ That. I'd also pull the distributor and prime the oiling system before starting. But you already started it so it's primed now LOL.

Haha. Yea well its my DD, a little honda civic because due to the craziness of stolen classics, mine is being put away.
Well it runs and such, motor only has 30k on it or so. It holds 11.9 gallons of gas and should be getting 34mpg BUT only got around 28mpg or so. I will go ahead and change the fuel filter this weekend but can it really affect it THAT much?

I recently picked up a 89 gt that was last driven in 96. Carfaxed it at 60k miles. It's crazy how some cars can be sat aside for so long.

Thanks V-town.
Belt is being bi-polar and stopped squeaking now. Just changed the fuel filter and it had some gunk! Hope this is the culprit.
If not, then might look at the injectors next.
