First, I must say thank you to Dan(Turbo50) for making my engine happen. Without his skills and reasonable pricing I would still be sitting here looking at a Mustang with a motor that has no compression. His initial quote for the work was almost half of the least expensive machine shop I talked to. Not only that, but Dan has real world experience racing with Mustang 5.0's, so I would give him an edge over the machine shops.
Dan does top notch work period. He's also completely honest and no BS. He recommended to replace only stuff that needed replacing. Didn't try to up sell on a bunch of stuff that would not benefit my build to make more money. In fact, the motor I brought him was in pretty good condition(not the motor that lost compression as mentioned above). He actually told me that there was no need to rebuild it. How many shops would tell you that? None that I know of.
Dan also documented the entire process with photos. He sent me over 30 photos basically step by step of building the motor, all of the clearances etc. I would consider that a 100% real deal blueprinting of the build process. He also provided all receipts of parts purchased to complete the build and went out of his way to find a camshaft for me.
On top of all of that the build came in under budget!
What I'm trying to say here is that if you need top quality work done at reasonable prices you need not look any further than Dan Turbo50 for your engine building needs and more.
Here's only a few of the pictures he sent during the build process.
Here's a couple of pics after I got ahold of the long block from Dan:

Thank you. Yeah, considering I went high 12's on stock h/c/i and a very tired old block with that old paxton... I have no doubts it's gonna run hard(mid low 11's).

Glad to hear it! This is my intermediate motor. I'm eventually going to have Dan build a Dart Block all forged stroker setup for me. But I needed something that will last up until that point. Since he has a lot of experience with engine building and has all of the right tools needed to do everything right I went with him instead of machine shops who could care less if they have my business of not.

Dan can get Dart blocks. As a result of this I will most likely be building one earlier than I originally thought.

I also forgot to mention that Dan answered every single question that I had without hesitation/frustration. This was during the entire build process. Meaning while he was building the long block, I was installing all the rest of the stuff, while I was dropping in the motor, after the motor was dropped in and started, and even after driving it around... even today more questions, more answers. Customer service is far beyond what you would see at any machine shop. Plus most machine shops wouldn't have any idea on how to properly set it up once its dropped in. Try calling them up to ask how to set up this or that or what torque this bolt or that bolt is after you've already got your motor from them.

No, other than it takes some money to make them powerful.
I have been looking for some sohc and dohc came core motors to get some under my belt.
I don't like the ohc motors, reminds me too much of import shit which to me is getting away from iconic muscle.

If I stay pushrod dan it will be a genesis 427. Still a ways out though. Cant decide what motor to put in this thing!

Agreed. I hate to say it, but Chevrolet is still building big power with pushrod blocks.

Heck yeah! If I had more time and $ I would have broke in my motor already so I could change the oil and put some boost to it. I have slowly revved it to 6k rpm and it feels like a BEAST!

Had a quick race with a guy on a CBR 600 yesterday. He was blown away when I pulled away from him lol. He started off at a low RPM, so he wasn't in his peak powerband when he hit it, but still I thought it was funny. He came up after and was like "damn that thing sounds crazy" then kept riding. I started off in 2nd gear @3200rpm while already in motion and could only go like 3/4 throttle to keep traction. Went up to about 5800 rpm roughly 55mph.

You raced someone for 1/2 a gear?

It was that, or crash into the stopped traffic at the next light, so yeah. I'm running a world class t5 with 3.27's(somewhat long gears) so the race was from approx 25-55mph. As I mentioned above not the biggest victory in the history of the world, but it was my first taste for the power potential of my new engine. I've been staying out of boost and not getting on it at all up until then.
My gearing is very linear
1st ~0-30mph
2nd ~30-60
3rd ~60-90
4th ~90-120
5th ~120-No clue yet

More updates on the Turbo50 built motor. I've been taking my time breaking it in since the weather has been rainy here and there lately plus I work odd hours. Changed the oil to some 15w-40 on Dans recommendation after 300 miles. I was driving around and finally really got on it after driving around town for about an hour. This motor pegs the tach hard! Who knows how accurate the factory tach is, but it pulls hard to 6500+rpm(factory tach says that rpm) can't wait to get it dialed in and down to the track next season.

With Dans pricing vs. machine/motor shop pricing and his experience with many engines built for us that are close to him(I'm 85 miles away each way and still saved a ton of $) I don't see a better option.
