I'm in the market for a foxbody fiberglass hood. I wanted to see my options. If anybody can post some pics of theirs that would be great. Any one have a heat extractor style?
Thanks

Jay, if you want a functional heat extractor hood go with Maier Racing. They make one that actually works! Other than that, you'd probably have to customize your own using a fiberglass cowl hood of some sort.

I use to work for Maier and the hoods are great for strength and are way lighter, all their fiberglass is laid not chopped like other company which makes them stronger and lighter , I don't know of another company that uses laid fiberglass, the only thing negative about Maier fiberglass parts is the fitment isn't always the best.

When I bought it, they shipped it truck freight from Canada. it was like an extra 250, I also had it shipped to a business which makes it a little cheaper for some reason. [ October 02, 2012, 02:26 AM: Message edited by: Nifty50 ]

I dont have pics but my buddy bought a cervini heat extractor hood and it wasnt super light (cervini is usually heavier than others) but the fitment was great and looked pretty cool. Looked kinda like the 03-04 cobra hood

If I valued your opinion in any kind of way, then that might have offended me. But we all know that isnt the case. No one on here respects you, anything that you say is about as important as a dog fart.

if yu want the hood to wave at you from 50 feet away, get a cheap one
if you want the hood to be nice and flat and look good....then you have 3 options (im not aware of maier racing at all)
1) cervini 2) harwood 3) ho fibretrends
all will be flat and look good
harwood DOES NOT HAVE the flat piece that keeps you from seeing into your engine bay, "edge" i guess that runs down the sides of the hood
and i thought HO was closed ?
not a very good pic...but PIN IT !!! or you will lose it if you count on the stock latch
