i just ordered some arp rocker arm stud thru summit. they get here and there in no normal arp packaging with the blue back ground. plane white card board backing with a clear plastic front with only a white sticker that has rough printing on it that is poorly printed arp with sum other numbers. basically it looks like any other summit brand part if u where to order. the studs also don't say arp on them. i have yet to see any arp bolt with out there arp stamp impression. any body ran into this? i personally think there selling me there stuff claiming its arp. if so i wouldn't mind goin after summit for sum kind of fake advertising claim. id hook it up fat for every body on here if we could really do anything about it. i dont have anybody over here now that can post a pic of this package, so if anybody is close cum buy and help the cause out lol.

Any and every arp product I ever seen comes in a blue box or blue package with yellow (there company colors) and should have arp stamped on them

I would contact summit first, I'm sure they would make it right. They have too big of a reputation to do something bogus like that, could have been a returned item [patriot]

Maybe the person who pulled the order packaged the summit brand by accident

i had something like this happen once, but there was a note saying it had been re-boxed due to the original box being damaged.

Like stated in a previous post I made about Summit, I have had a lot of issues with their orders as of late. Shit I remember last year they sent me an oil pan that looked like it had been installed before, I gave them a call and they said it was a repackaged item. I told them I didnt pay for a repackaged scratched item that looked like it had been installed before, I paid for a new one. They sent me a new one of coarse, but I had to wait an extra day to get my shit done. Call them they will make it right, but time is money and most people dont like having their time wasted.

camaro i understand them sending u a used item. they do it also at every parts store. the item gets return for what ever reason. and the store tries to resell it to somebody else. maybe the dude that ordered the part didn't know the correct application when they ordered and didn't figure it until they tried to install it or sum times the part had a manufacturing defect that the installer either didn't wanna bother with or didn't know how to adjust or it couldn't be adjusted , thus part got returned, the store maybe didnt see a problem with it, thus resold.
you are completely right about not wanting to pay for a used or opened item when u payed a brand new price. unfortunately all stores do this. not just summit.only 50 percent of people even notice or care. i personally have had 75 percent problem with every already opened parts . so im right with u on that just don't cut it. another reason u got a gd reputation for detailed work, cause u notice stuff like that. um but this is the case of summit lieing to the public and getting rich by another company's name. that maybe i can cash out on share lol, and get them back on line with that bullshit to set them strait.

the packaging is exactly like any in house summit brand package style stuff. this is not normal arp packaging. nor does it say arp on the studs. every other stud or bolt Ive seen by arp says arp. im complaining about buying arp and receiving summit brand stuff, and summit is maybe scamming. if camaro doesn't like buying used stuff for brand new pricing i sure the hell don't like buying one brand and getting another.

I would call them and ask. After selling auto parts for some time, certain distributors will work with manufactures on pricing and sometimes they come up with plain packaging to help make cost to the distributor cheaper allowing them to be more competitive. my buddy recently ordered some beltech nitro drops for his truck from summit and same thing!

Also there is only a few box manufacturing plants in the country that supply boxes and there was a big failure some years back at one of the box plants and Moog went through the same thing where they had to sell their products in a plain white box just to stay in business!

Are the bolts stamped with ARP's name?

i just looked at a couple sets of ARP rocker studs i have hanging here, they all say ARP on the rocker end of them. i would call ARP and ask them about it, then call Summit.

ARP phone number is 800.826.3045

lol You guys are killing me. Do you really think summit is charging you for arp, then switching the part out for a summit brand? I mean really.. I guess I'm the only guy they seem to take care of in cali. Check the other thread. They treat me like I'm some important shop, not some bum with a primered fox body. Also I have gotten arp head bolts with out their name stamped into them before, even came in the arp box.. Not every one is out to
scam you! [patriot]

If you need someone ext. at summit pm me. I'll give you a buddy's ext that works in the sparks office. He will help you out no problems. He isn't a sales rep, so I don't give his ext. out to everyone. [patriot]

edit.. Sent you a pm with his ext. he works 7am-4pm.

Summit makes way too much money to do some BS scam like this, with the amount of parts they ship out day in and day out them making a mistake is the more intelligent assumption. Call Summit and call ARP, done....
