I don't see these very often on the road & came across this one today! A Ford Taurus SHO. Not a very impressive car looks wise IMO. @4,350lb curb weight, 360hp/350tq, I don't see one standing much a chance to a V. a 2005 CTS-V weighs in @3,850lbs, & is rated @405hp/395tq btw.
I Can't believe many of you on here think this is a better car than a CTS-V???? I would've demolished this tuna boat if we could've lined up for a run....

Next year, my department will be getting new patrol cars... They are based off of the Taurus Platform. These cars out perform the old/ outdated Crown Vic and are very comfortable! I'm excited for them...

Man, if Cafords didn't have the worst search function I've ever seen on a Forum in my life, I would go back & dig up my old thread when I first posted about my new Cadi. You could then see everything that a bunch of y'all posted & how much you guys were hating on me when I was a VERY ACTIVE member at the time on this site & we would see who should REALLY be banned... So lets be clear. The 2013 Interceptor Model from Ford is the police version of the NEW MONDEO. The Mondeo is also up for certification for NASCAR for 2013. Very likely the Next Cup car.
For street version, which is closer in Category with the CTS (Notice NON V model) it will have the 3.5L EcoBoost 365hp AWD. It is being extremely under rated from what I've heard.
Now saying that Ford NEVER made a good 4 door, I think is going a bit off course. I have many CSVT buddies that are putting out well over 400 wheel out of 3.0L. (Yes 3.0L, its very common swap from the 2.5L block that was in it.) Now I know it's no 700rwhp, but from a little 4dr, it's not bad either. The SHO in older generations was a little sleeper. Not anything attractive, but for its generation, look what else was out. Not much. The new SHO has potential, just think that its power will do much better in the new Mondeo. It's about time it comes back here.

The "Ford-only-forever" people are missing the phuck out. There are great cars out there from all the brands. The Ford vs Chevy vs the world threads are played out. Open your eyes to the nice hardware out there, regardless of brand. I was born and raised on domestic only cars but now list a R33 and an S15 on my list of dream cars.

I agree. Even Hyundai is coming out with good cars nowadays. Brand loyalty is stupid in this day and age. Its very funny watching people defend cars like the taurus just because its a ford instead of giving props to a non ford car for what it is.

Sorry, but I'm not a fan of the CTS-V. I think it's cool GM built a fast sedan, and you gotta respect the LSx engines they throw in them, but personally I think stealth fighter design of the bodies is fugly. I mean it looks like the only tools they gave the designers was a straight edge and a pencil. Sometimes I can't even tell which is the airplane and which is the car.
And yes, I also agree the SHO is nothing to look at. That's kinda always been the point with the SHO, a sleeper. I truly wish Ford would import the Falcon rather than built that terrible looking 4-door Mustang concept they have.

LOL... Your S4 is an overall NICER car than a 1st Gen CTS-V, but in stock trim makes no where near the same amount of power? How is 250hp/258tq the same as 400hp/395tq? Funny how everyone gets bent out of shape when I post ONE topic about a CTS-V running 9's, but they never notice that I post about Mustangs too, all the time. S4's, RS4's, RS6's, all nicer cars than a CTS-V, BUT what is the price tag on all those bad boys? I will bet you the Cadi has WAY more bang for the buck, is FAR cheaper off the lot, & will run 11's, 10's, even 9's easier, & MUCH cheaper than the Audis, & will have FAR less issues....

I personally see it like this the CTS-V and SHO are just different, any performance Ford guy is gonna be looking at a Mustang or a Shelby wheras a Cadillac person may get the CTS cause it's a vette with 4 doors because what else are they gonna roll in the cadillac lineup?? I think they both look cool but the SHO is wayyy overpriced in my book so I'd have to look closely at the CTSv and I've driven nothing but Ford since my 16th Bday.

Ok, bring it on... If I lose I lose. I can care less. It will take quite a bit of a power advantage to make up for the 500 lbs of weight difference, & any smart racer knows that. My cars achilles heel is, it can't be launched hard because of the wheel hop. Either way, I will give it a go.

Basically, this thread has totally derailed from what it's original intent was. I posted it as a JOKE because when I bought my V & posted about it, & several other times that the subject has popped up in different threads, people have hated on my car & always go back comparing it to the SHO. I know they are simply stating that they think the SHO is better & my Cadi is in their words "gay" simply because of the blue oval bias. The SHO is cool, performs ok, but is not my cup of tea, & it's looks leave much to be desired IMO. People on this site are so damn biased they cannot give credit where credit is due. Like I have said a million times, if Ford made a modern day 4 door sedan, with a 400-ish hp 347ci pushrod V8 under the hood, IRS, Nav, 6 speed, & brembo brakes, modeled similar to a V or whatever, everyone on here (myself included) would bust a nut over it....Australian Ford's don't count either!
