I'm debating whether to get this twin turbo setup for my 88 5.0 for but my buddy was saying his buddy was getting rid of his fox body with a nos system in it he'd sell me for $300. Now ideally I'd like both but cant do it at the moment so if it you had the choice what would you guys do & which is less harsh on the engine?

depends on how much you want to spend. turbo have a higher buy in, but you don't have to refill bottles at 50 bucks a pop. both can be bad for your motor if your tune is off.

In the long run, the turbo would be cheaper if you go through bottles like a fiend. The power of a turbo is always there, unlike nitrous. A turbo kit is a bit harder to hide though.

Let alone your own bottle on a lengthy night/day.
Go turbo aalll the way if you can handle the smog game every one to two years.. (unless you have friends in slow places) also, turbo on a friendly tune, and well thought out setup will be gentle on your motor when compared to that piston melting/eating nitrous burn.

I always kept a full spare bottle laying around, I case the speed shop ran out, or if 1 bottle was low.

I have (2)10 pounders, and (1)15 pounder. Could burn up 175$ in silly gas in a weekend easily. Plus the dangers of detonation pre engine cylinders. got lucky once when the n20 cylinoide stayed open when I let off for a elongated miss shift, and ended up with an exploded air box, and sweet flames shooting out my hood, and exhaust. Duct tape saved that night.
But if you want the thrill of a quick taste of a hundred or so Extra horsepower try it out. But if I were to do it over again, i'd do it the same way, because the learning experience was pretty fun. And having a purge hose spraying up fog showing the competition and crowd your not fuggin round is cool.

Well I do have forged pistons don't think I have to worry about them burning up but I don't think I'm gona wana constantly be refilling my bottles that could be ridiculously expensive. I'm leaning towards the turbo even though its almost 3x the deal I was gona get on the nos. I think it would be cheaper long term what type of damage could turbo do to my engine?

If optimally tuned, and parts complement eachother maybe only slightly increased load on main and rod bearings because obviously more force is pressed upon them.. But i'm no professional.

Either one could be bad..but a turbo would be nice..and using a small shot of nitrous to cool the air would work well
