My boy has an 06 I believe and loves the car. The weak point for sure is the rear end the wheel hop is horrible. I have driven his with a cam,lt's and exhaust and it moves pretty good for a full size car and very comfortable.

I LOVE my 05 CTS-V. Not knocking Stangs, (I still own my 91 Coupe & love it) but personally enjoy my caddy more than any of the Stangs I have ever owned!!!! If you are looking for a relatively fast, comfy riding, semi roomy, rwd, 6speed, V8, american Sedan, a V, or a G8 should be the only cars you are looking at...

The car rides comfy for a car thats lowered 2", It has nice amenities (heated seats/Nav/Bose sound system etc), gets a shitload of attention, & for a 3,800+ lb car, it's brakes VERY well, handles good, & it is pretty damn quick. Plus, can't argue with the fact that it put down 418rwhp/393rwtq with nothing but a cam, full exhaust, & a tune....

On the downside, it gets TERRIBLE gas mileage (mine has been cammed & tuned sine I've owned it so I'm sure that makes the MPG worse), the rear end is weak & will break if you don't know how to handle it when wheel hop sets in, & the hydraulic clutch setup, although is nice & smooth, it can be a bit finicky once u have problems with it. Overall though, I haven't had any major issues with it other than that I have to spend a shit load on gas...

Now, lets count how long it takes one of the haters to reply in this thread.....

Pretty solid cars. I work at cadillac and every customer with a cts-v that comes in have nothing but good things to say about them.

Nope... Smog is definitely an issue....

Here is a vid of the only time I hit the track in my Cadi... This is with the cutouts wide open. U can see how soft I launch it in fear of breaking the rear diff, & also you can hear how bad it wheel hopped in between the 1-2 shift because I had to let off the gas for a sec & then get back in it.... I ran a best of 13.01 @111 that night... Not that impressive, but also remember that my 60ft was only a 2.2, & this car is NOT a drag car by any means... Unfortunately I didn't get my best run on tape, only the one with the wheel hop, but at least it sounds good LOL...

Just curious why you would rather have a Taurus SHO over a CTS-V? Is it strictly just because of the Blue Oval badge?

how many mpg are you getting?
About 13mpg average right now since 75% of my driving is city stop & go driving. On the hwy, I can pull off around 19-21 depending on how I drive, but yeah overall the best avg MPG I've gotten out of a tank was around 14.7 mpg, & that was putting the thing around in 6th gear on the street...

Told you they get shitty MPG, BUT you gotta figure my cam specs are 228/232 duration. 111 LSA, 612 intake/600 exhaust. Plus I'm running bigger injectors, 1 3/4 long tubes, & full 3" exhaust.... it's also a heavy car with 3.73 gears... Not a very good DD car to be honest unless you don't care about MPG. I'm sure a stock one should get MUCH better MPG, but mine was modded when I purchased it, so i have no clue...

Wonderful car. Loved every minute of it when it was on the road WITHOUT a broken diff or empty fuel tank. Compliments everywhere you go. It does everything better than a mustang lol

12.9 @ 113 was my best in this car on street tires.
