I only use amsoil. I order everything directly through the site. I pay the $20 a year for the preferred account that gives me wholesale prices on everything. I get 0w-30 signature series for about 8 bucks a quart. Not bad. Plus I get oil for my bike as well so I save a lot of money in the end. I use the EO11 filter. They have a 6 month trial membership for 10 bucks. Worth it just to order once. [ March 27, 2012, 08:58 PM: Message edited by: EVLSONC ]

Its great oil.. I've used it in all my vehicles and it is much better than the other oils I've used..
Where are you located? There's a distributor in San Carlos that has everything you'd need..

I say keep using amsiol since it's a fully synthetic oil. I've heard Royal Purple is not even synthetic, isn't it a blend? ![[Confused]](confused.gif)

My dad used only mobil 1 in all his taxis he owned at sfo and they all were operated 24-7. he said he used mobil 1 from when it was brand new til the taxi was past 100k miles and out of service then tore down the engine and said there was pretty much no wear and the engine was incredibly clean. Hes also tried Redline but still prefers mobil 1 because the oil life is longer and stays alot cleaner.
I would think royal purple is more like redline.

Amsoil is $10.15/ Quart. Expensive. . . But 15k miles between oil changes kinda makes up for it?

Amsoil is fantastic stuff. I use their products in most cars i've owned. I currently run their 0w-30 Signature Series and the EA Oil filter in my Mustang... change it once a year.
I also run their EA Air Filter, and i put a half a bottle of PI Performance Improver gas additive through the fuel tank every other year or 5,000 miles... whichever comes first.

Depends which one of their oils you go for, but for the Signature Series;
-Extended drain intervals (up to 15k miles) -true 100% synthetic base stock (group IV) -superior shear resistance -higher than API allowed levels of ZDDP (Zinc anti-wear additive) -higher resistance to "foaming"

After the break in period its what I use in my jet skis since they are under boost 90% of the time I want something that will hold up.
Yes it is hard to find especially for marine engines. Have to buy minimum of a case at a time for what I need.

+1, especially since the motor is probably more important than both the tranny and rear-end put together, well in most cases... ![[Roll Eyes]](rolleyes.gif)
