But you would have to ask "why are they chanting USA"? They are not playing in a International Tournament nor a International Team. While I agree it is petty, but I am pretty sure that it being Texas and so close to the border that we can ALL deduce the racist undertones of such a chant in this situation.

Sounds like some typical liberal pussy BS to me, we are all immigrants and came to America now we are AMERICANS, you don't have to forget your language, customs, culture but at least show some pride in the US. Everyone wants to sport their Mexican flag and their Italy sweatsuit while bitching about the very country that gives them every opportunity to prosper. Telling some kids in TEXAS they have to feel bad and apologize for yelling USA is garbage undertones or not!
Remember the soccer game in LA a few years ago where people were chanting Mexico and the awards ceremony was performed in Spanish, was that racist?

The other team was calling them the Alamo Whites..... I'd say they are just as guilty at trash talking..... Btw it's a fucking game!!! Kids talk shit while playing sports. You can do some mental damage if you can get it your opponents head.

This past week was also the 176th anniversary of the Battle of the Alamo so I'm sure there was tension all around.
The other team screaming "Alamo Whites", classic , notice again how the article wasn't about making them apologize and feel guilty.

I am from San Antonio, I can't believe it, for saying USA? But I can believe people were getting upset about saying Alamo Whites. Alamo Heights area is mostly hated for being the wealthy part of San Antonio and is mostly white. But San Antonio is mostly Mexican and the best Mexican food I have ever tasted. I was hoping by now San Antonio racial tensions would by better, that's the main reason my mom and I left. Being half white and Mexican as kid in San Antonio was crazy. How did you end up in San Antonio? What you think about those one way turnarounds? Those roads that don't make no sense on the older part of town were actually paved over cow trails.
