that will depend on how many LNB's the dish has as each coax coming from the dish goes to individual receivers. most dishes allow for connection to 4 receivers. you will also need to have a card associated w/ the new receiver, linked to your account or youll get a scrambled signal. if you're adding another box, most satellite providers will do this free of charge by sending one of their installers or affiliates over so why consider hiring someone to do a side job when its free from your provider?

yes ..basically card sharing.. order dish at one house.. 4-5 hd recievers...split amongst how many ever houses you want.. so i have two recievers at my house..one is working so far since my house already had dish before..but im looking to get a couple more sat signal wires so i can hook the second reciever ,a viewsat, and my computer card that was working in the past..but have not been working for awhile now..im sure someone will crack them sooner or later..my friends are into this stuff..and i just learned from them..the new hd dishes have 110 119 and 129 on them..just not sure if they have a built in switch or a external switch..if my roof wasnt soo high id just do it myself.

been awhile since i messed w/ FTA stuff after they cracked down the decoders that were providing the bin files. did they crack nagravision 3? im assuming dishnetwork is fully moved onto N3? if u cant get on the roof, it may be worthwhile to check out what model you have so you can determine if you need to get a switch to get more coax outputs. the ones ive seen already contained a built in switch for 4 receivers.

problem w/ iks is that most are connected to some server fulltime so potentially there is more risk from the traceability.
