run water in the cooling system for awhile?
pull the motor and replace all of them, the rest are going to rust through and pop just like that one shortly...

Theyre there so if the water in the block freezes, instead of the block cracking apart, the freeze plugs will pop out.
(FYI-Brass ones wont rust.) [ January 04, 2012, 07:57 PM: Message edited by: 50DADDY ]

From the look of the stream the freeze plug just rusted out a little hole doesn't look like anything would have fell in with the pressure of the water trying to escape. Just be careful when removing the old plug that you don't break any of the left over freeze plug off and it falls inwards. Real east fix with the rubber replacement ones from autozone. You'll be alright worst you might have to do is remove a header to get to the plug

I never used one I don't know how you would install it probly hammer it in? Someone that's installed on will probly chime in.. I believe the brass will still do the job of the freezeplug but the rubber one will not pop out if the water/coolant ever freezes in your block.

Use the brass ones or copper can't remember the ones but to take it out by putting a flat head on the lip and tap it till it flips an stays in the hole then pull out. Don't drill it!!!! I'm no pro but I was taught that way and it works everytime
