So I've been working for a Chevy Dealership for the past 3 years. I've been a lot attendant ever since I started. People at work know that I work on cars, know I study automotive in school, and know some of the jobs I've done. Today I was personally asked if Id be interested in working in the shop as an installer (beginning technician). I've always loved cars and working on them, so I'm leaning towards taking the job and getting into the trade. I'm even happier that they personally came up to me rather than picking someone that turned in an application. So juiced!

Thanks guys I appreciate it. I was not expecting this at all. I was clocking into work today and the first thing I hear is "How would you feel to be our new installer?" I didn't believe him at first so I asked him if he was serious lol. But it feels great. I need a full time and definitely need the money. Besides, my pops medical coverage changed and its completely BS how his new coverage is. If I take this job, medical would be cheaper for me, and it would definitely help my parents out which is what I ultimately want. I just need to buy all the tools I need now. Instead of taking out a loan, my parents said they'd spot me some cash and would let me pay them back. I'm glad I have parents that support what I want to do with my life. Definitely greatful for all the people in my life. Wouldn't be here without them

That's how my buddy started. Lot boy pulling cars in. They offered him an installer position, then an apprenticeship in the union. Now he's an instructor at the training center. Pretty awesome that there's still places where you can work your way up.
