Ok I'm starting to seriously play around with the idea of getting a tubular K-Member... First off my car is not a full on road racer. Street/strip/ occasional twisted typ of car when I'm said and done...
Everyone says get Maximum motorsports. I know they are the top brand. However how do the other companies measure up? UPR, Team Z, Granetelli (however you spell it), etc....
Only trash talk another company if YOU have personally used it and had failures not "heresay"

The only one I would trust on a street car that's going to see potholes and speed bumps and freeway overpass expansion joints would be the MM.
the others are lighter and intended for track only, the MM was intended for everyday use + track.

If it help i have Maximum Motorsports suspension on my Mach 1. I daily drive my mach because its the only vehicle i own. I've had the suspension on the car for over 80,000 miles now and no complaints. I've driven to Portland a couple time and Los Angeles a bunch of times and everywhere I go. I have done open track event ever since i bought the car when it was new with no issues. I also go drag racing a lot and autocross. So i do everything with my car and it has over 100,000 miles now without any failures or issues with the suspension with all the abuse it's been put through. From my experience Maximum Motorsports would be great choice, but it would depend on your budget.

MM FTMFW...if you're gonna do it, do it RIGHT
(I'd also recommened Grigg's if it were more of a track oriented car rather than a street car...)

Seems to be either MM or griggs or qa1 build the best quality in the 79-04 k members.

I've heard problems with the older qa1's but I guess they got their shit together now.

Aluminum Cans and Aluminum heads might be made from the same materials, would you put an aluminum can on your motor to replace heads?
But I get your point it's just different k-members are made for different uses and different levels of quality depending on the price.
So whatever suits your needs the most is all that matters!

For a daily driven car with occasional track use, a lot of people use MM because of their design and durability known to take the abuse of rough roads and highways. I've seen a granatelli k-member in person and the welds didnt look nearly as "professional" as the welds on an MM k-member, although the design is almost identical. Personally, I'd stick with a stock k-member if you were on a budget and get a "good" one (ie: Griggs or MM) if you have the money. It'd be a very bad day if your k-member took a shit on you while driving ![[patriot]](graemlins/patriot.gif)

I have a full UPR suspension. Works great for me. I went with spherical bushings so its kinda noisy. 150lb springs so it rides like shit, but it has'nt busted a weld yet and I drive like a mad man ![[burnout]](graemlins/burnout.gif)
