ive been offerd a job in sac, i work in a parts distributing warehouse, we branched off to sac last year, and a manager position opend up for one of the day shifts,its a 7 doller pay increase per hour,so im really likeing that, i wouldnt want to move to sac, any of u guys ever commute from the bay to sac? i live in oakland and currently commute to concord,a 40 mnute commute, ill be applying for the position this monday so i have about 2 weeks until i find out, thanks

Damn if you want to commute roughly 3 hours a day back and forth, all power to you. What good does a 7+ dollar increase in pay do when youre gonna spend over a 100 dollars aweek on gas? If i were you, id find a cheap apt in sac, elk grove, lodi, galt area. makes your commute about 20 to 30 miutes away and saves you extra money on gas and probably rent. Depending on where you find housing. i live in fremont and my parents live in elk grove, It takes me about an hour 45 to get there if im going low 70s.

I have coworkers that have commutes that are outrageous. They have their personal reasons, but it's not money. In my opinion, time is money - is a 1.5+ hour commute worth it to you for 7 bucks an hour? That's an extra hour and a half out of every day that you're never going to get back. Driving that long will play a toll on you too. My coworkers that commute for over 1.5 hours each day come in looking like zombies sometimes.

7 bucks ,fuuuuuuck no,PAY ME....add the stress+gas+wear/tear on your car then decide..u need to be making 25-30 to EVEN CONSIDER

I commute close to an hour and a half everyday it isn't easy especially when we have overtime and we're working close to 70 hours a week plus the commute defiantly feel like a zombie some times.

I guess it's up to you, if you can drive it no problem than do it but if you feel you'll fall asleep one day and end up losing your life is that worth it to you?

Don't do it man. Your 8 hour day just turned I in to a 12 hour day with the commute. Factor in your gas. If you get x amt of miles per gallon look at how miles your commute is. I bet you will be paying in excess of 300$ a month on gas.

So is savage habits a car club or gang? If your not part of a car club why would you be claiming you are? Also if the jobs good enough commuting any type of mileage shouldn't bother you as long as your following a career path. If its taco bell or weinerschnitzel then fuck a 10 min commute. When did cafords give out regular ass life advice, pickup a friend or two and stop driving around in your car with your little pellet guns nigga.

ive been offerd a job in sac, i work in a parts distributing warehouse, we branched off to sac last year, and a manager position opend up for one of the day shifts,its a 7 doller pay increase per hour,so im really likeing that, i wouldnt want to move to sac, any of u guys ever commute from the bay to sac? i live in oakland and currently commute to concord,a 40 mnute commute, ill be applying for the position this monday so i have about 2 weeks until i find out, thanks
Not sure where in Oak your are or where in Sac your job is, but Google maps puts the distance from city to city at 81 miles (one way) if you take I80 and 102 miles (one way) if you take I5 through Tracy.

If you take I80, you have to pay $4 to cross the bridge. Let's say your car gets 26mpg, for a round trip, you'll be burning through 6.23 gallons of gas at $3.60/gallon, that's $22.43 in gas. With bridge toll, you're spending $26.43 a day in travel costs. With your $7/hr increase, the first 4 hours of your pay increase have disappeared. Obviously if your car gets worse mileage, your costs increase.

If you take I5 to avoid the bridge toll, you're looking at 204 miles round trip and burning 7.84 gallons of gas for a grand total of $28.24. It's actually more money to avoid driving over the bridge.

Sac is nice. The cost of living is pretty low and you won't spend half your life sitting in the car and half your wage increase on gas.
