How wonderful how propaganda works. I am a modified vegan, I eat mainly vegetables, very little dairy, and occasional meat, ( mainly from the animals I personally kill eg. deer, dove, turkey).

True, most people have no idea what there really putting into there bodies. Most all the meat is so full of steroid injections because they can't keep up with supply and demand. They feed the cows corn and ground up meat mixed with other shit to feed to us and call it safe. Cows don't eat corn or meat, they are grass grazing animals. I'm not going to take this any further because of the general lack of knowledge on this site but if you care at all about your health, look into it for yourselves and your family.
As for some of the body builders and supplement takers, just try to figure out the ingredients in your protein drinks. Each one of those listed ingredients is made up of hundreds of chemicals to make just that one .
You wonder why we have fat people everywhere, cancer, kids with ADD and autism? Everyone knows someone with these conditions and they used to be rare now it's common. You are what you eat.

"I don't go around promoting beef and poultry shoving it in peoples faces I don't castigate people for not eating steak sandwiches And I would never diss someone for being a fucking broccoli head or living off radishes or eating grass with tofu I like a lot of vegan cuisine but the illogicality of expecting everyone to adopt your particular idea of what being healthy is, is just preposterous I've seen some of you herbivores, and if you wanna argue health y'all need to eat some kind of supplement because some of y'all are so skinny that it's disgusting Lookin like the only hip hop motherfuckas on Schindler's list"-Immortal Technique

9cobra7 well said, much of the chronic disease that plagues the USA, can be attributed to our horrible western diet. I know reading is hard for many of us here so I recommend two documentaries , Food Inc., Forks Over Knives. The food industry is very fucken powerful if they want the public to believe cattle is indespensible it will be so.

Vegan- A person who follows the diet and/or lifestyle that promotes not using any animal products or byproducts.
The vegan diet and lifestyle are both impossible to follow to the fullest, so most vegans tend to stop when it becomes inconvenient. For example, animal products are used to vulcanize rubber and process steel. So a true vegan would be forced to shun most anything found in an industrialized nation, notably things such as cars, buses, airplanes and bicycles. Also, the vegan diet does not and cannot supply vitamin B12, as this essential vitamin only comes from meat and dairy. So a vegan must either take vitamin supplements, (which one way or another come from an animal) give up the diet altogether, or face B12 deficiency; which can cause brain damage.
Generally, vegans tend to ignore such glaring contractions and problems, preaching that they are the moral elite; even if they happen to be wearing leather shoes.

because of the above this is why I consider myself a modified vegan, I certainly don't live under illusions of moral superiority, my compass is further askew than I would admit. My vegan status is more attributed to a healthy diet, "eat whole food mainly vegetables, not too much."

I do the same, but I don't eat meat at all. I do take multi vitamins to compensate for what I don't get being vegetarian. i started this diet approx. 2 years ago not because I was over weight, but because how un- healthy I was eating.... Since I modified my diet, I feel 10x better. It was the best thing I have ever done for myself, no joke.

Whoa, wasn't expecting this thread to turn into a serious discussion.

This I find interesting. You aren't the stereotypical vegan that usually gets portrayed. What do you do for meat when it isn't hunting season?

Luckily the various seasons span most the year, Deer is late summer into fall, Turkey is in November and again in March, but my main diet is Vegetable based I eat meat on occasion. My diet choice is based on a healthier lifestyle and not supporting the corporate machine.
