Curious if there are any quality local sources for wheel chrome plating and roughly what it costs to do a wheel?

luke, probably would be cheaper to just get a new wheel vs spending like $150 to redip a wheel. on the flip side, what i found w/ the chinese replicas is the chrome quality is pretty cheap so peeling is common on the inside of the wheel and around the lug area. then the question is whether its worth spending the extra for a quality dip vs just living with some slight imperfections.

Alex, this actually is not for my car.
Surprisingly, the chrome on my rep saleens that are 3-4yrs old is somehow holding up great.
I agree with you that if it started to come off, I'd probably just buy a new wheel as they are something like $175 to replace with free shipping. If you take the alternative into account, with shipping, it comes out to about the same. It would come down to quality at that point.
Also, not sure of "dipping" is used too often but rather chrome electro-plating... someone might know more.

I've heard good things about superior chrome plating in San Jose. I have never used them myself. There website says everything is done in house. Look at harley or bmx forums for chrome plating info also.
