I used krylon n it came out like shiz so i was told to use caliper paint????? Ima paint em all white expcept the horse on the center cap was gun leave him black........

I'm a rookie at painting stuff, but when I did mine I cleaned, green taped, sanded, primed, primed, painted, painted, painted, clear coated, clear coated, clear coated, and between coats I had it under a heat lamp. And make sure you don't get any dirt or dust contaminats, it really shows bad. they lasted me a couple years without fading.. Theres a picture of the car in the fox body pix thread. You should just prep them up real nice and have them powder coated if you want something that will look goood for a long time though. Good luck!

rattle canned rims = SHIT! After a couple of days of regular driving you'll end up with a lot of chips in the paint...then when you hose it down after cleaning them, the chipped paint will increase 10x's! Spend $200 and get them done right! Powder coat FTW ![[Whoo Whooooo!]](graemlins/woowoo.gif)

Nothing wrong with rattle can if your on a budget,I can't count the times I've done wheels last minute for myself that is,just scuff the wheels good,wash good,if u have a compressor than use it to dry between rim and tire,u can throw a few coats of primer if u want too,but when u spray it,do light coats,maybe 2 than and little heavier to achieve the gloss and finish u want.

duplicolor wheel paint works great most people have problems when they dont scuff most of the clearcoat off. i used 4 coats of the duplicolor wheel paint and 4 coats of the clear wheel paint came out shinin like glass and didnt chip or peel at all. its all in the prep.

Thnx u guys yah i would powder coat the but if ima spend 300$ ima buy some used cobras lol so i think ima try that duplicolor rim paint do they make it ina gloss white my cars white so ima hit the ponies with the white i think it will b cool

I used duplicolor wheel paint and it worked pretty good. I sanded with 400 grit paper on the facing surfaces and then scuffed the whole wheel with a red scotch brite pad and purple power cleaner to make sure the wheel was completely clean. I did the first coat as a light mist coat and followed with two medium wet coats I then did two full wet coats of duplicolor clear to give the smooth wet finish. Your prep work is going to make all the difference so don't get lazy on that part.

I've used Duplicolor and Krylon both with good results, a lot of it has to do with your prep work. The last set I did were with krylon in black and they turned out great, I always use clear coat too.

i use high heat paint they sell at kragen. works fine. i wouldnt spend $200 to powder coat some ponies, well not me at least, rattle can is fine.

Thnx guys i was gun paint my rims but i got this custom suspension ima put on this weekrnd strange engineering 8 way adjustable shocks n struts plus the whole rear end hardware was tryin to sell it but ahhhh f it ima put it on and have fun with it

rattlecan works fine if done rite.
the key is to prep, clean the surface, primer, heat and clearcoat.
