Yeah, I've been a member of this site for a while, because of one of the bay cruises we all had three years ago. Well, I never honestly thought I would end out in a mustang, but I believe I got the deal of the century, and couldn't pass it up.
A little backstory.
I've owned a few LS1/LS6 cars, modded and stock.
First I had a 2000 Z28 A4 with a stall and catback Sold that Got a 1998 Z28 with an M6, bolt on's on that car Sold that Got a 2001 Z06, Cam, Nitrous, full exhaust and bolt on's, fast, but expensive... I put to much money into that. Got a 2000 SS with an M6, kept it stock besides lowering and catback, Sold that Then I got a 1998 Corvette coupe from my work for penny's, low miles (34k) nassua blue, lowered, deep dish C5's, stock mechanically. Selling that (pretty much sold to a buyer in Texas) And finally, I got myself a 1999 Mustang GT, for a price I'm not sure I'm willing to say... waaaaay low thanks to my work. (dealership).
The reason I purchased it was because it cost less then my tax return, needed a couple simple fixes, and I can cash out on the vette.
Basically the car needed a new intake (common leaking issue), and coil packs because it had leaked for a little to long and destroyed the coils. About $500 invested on top of the cost of the car, and it drives perfect.
It has some after market parts on there, but mostly stock... Passed smog with a mis-fire... hahaha...
Anyway, here are some pictures of past and present cars...
2000 Z28 in NH before I moved to CA. (Car came with me)
1998 Z28 that I got for 6300 back in 06! Has 68k miles.
2001 Z06
2000 SS
1998 Corvette, which I will totally miss, but alas, everything has a price... lol
And some crappy pictures of the new stang I picked up recently. Living the dream 10 years late!
Swapping some more coils
In the shop prior to purchase to make sure everything is gravy...
So the only thing I'm looking for is a better sounding catback... I'm looking to do maybe a catted x-pipe (sound, and smog friendly) along with it. Basically, I'm looking for a direction on that... theres no real big sites like Ls1tech for mustangs I noticed, which kinda sucks.
Either way, looking to keep this car for a little bit only because I don't have a loan on it, and its kinda fun to drive. [ February 08, 2011, 04:05 AM: Message edited by: frequency101 ]

I'd get a bassani catted x pipe but as far as smog goes it's a hit or miss. I'm sure the catted X pipe would pass the sniffer but visual is another thing. Some techs just take a peek to see if cats are installed and some go as far as checking for CARB numbers.
There are lots of nationwide boards that are large if not larger than ls1tech. Corral, svtperformance, mustangforums, stangnet, and yellowbullet come to mind.

Welcome to the stang game...I see you've had a nice collection of rides in the past. Just curious though, how's it feel to get into a mostly stock GT after owning a couple vettes???
Car looks good though! Nicely modded. i'd also recommend a Bassani catted X-pipe...gotta love the raspy sound! Welcome aboard...Cafords is, well, "entertaining" to say the least

Seems like svtperformance is barely active as far as the new edge section goes. Stangnet is kinda slow as well, shit, i think this place is more active. Never heard of corral.
Kev, I gotta stop by the shop. How much does he want for the bassani?

Uhh, definatly slow. Lol. I dont think im going to mod this car much, if at all. I dont see big gains with cams or heads. Seems like you have to get cams and heads to make as much hp as an ls1 with a full exhaust. (340 ish)

Defiantly can't go all motor on any 2v or 4v. It's not worth it. You'll need heads cams intake built bottom end and a nice s trim would get the job done. Looks nice however.

Welcome to the boards.
The 99-01 GT's aren't the hottest performers out of the box, but lowered with a nice exhaust and gears will make it a wondeful daily driver.
I would have recommended you get a terminator, but I'm biased.
