I called about adding an 04 ctsv to my insurance and they quoted a 950 dollar increase for 6 months.
Does that seem high? I have a 2010 4runner, my 93 cobra and then it'd be the Cadillac on a policy paying almost 400 a month for insurance
Also, how do you guys insure your stangs? I've got full coverage on my cobra, but I'm pretty sure book is only 3500 bucks. I would assume that's what I'd get back if it gets in a wreck? Is there a way to increase the amount you'd get back in the case of an accident? Which wouldn't surprise me around here

for your cobra you should have 'stated value' insurance, it's a price you agree on before hand if the unimaginable happens

If you don't drive the cobra a lot get collectors car insurance. It's stated value, no bs. I tried stated value with Mercury, all I did was waste my time getting receipts and pictures. With Heackock insurance I just stated the value over the phone and sent in a picture of the car parked in my garage. Simple, and it's only $250/year.

I tried hagerty and they said they wouldn't do it if I drive it to work, then that was about it. I'll call again tomorrow to see about by driving it to work I guess just car shows/meets
I'll be pretty stoked if I can get 250 a yr.

I called hagerty, kinda rude on the phone. Said they wouldn't insure it because I said it was probably worth around 7-8k minimum is 10k which I'd think I could just go for the 10k minimum though since I'd be paying te difference in cost. And the other reason was I said I may drive it to work occasionally. Which I can understand. Although I work on a military base and it's probably highly unlikely itd get stolen while I'm at work. Oh well, looks like it's gonna be a garage queen for a while

I just got a quote from these guys, do you have the 1000 mile limit that I see on my quote?
They gave me a quote for 10k stated value for both my 89 and 97, $530/yr
I put about 4k miles on my 97 last year though, but they didn't seem to ask for any proof of that?

I do have the 1000 mile limit, I almost never drive it on the street. I basically got the coverage for theft and if I wreck while towing it. The track time is definitely not covered, we both agreed to that. They gave me a quote for 10k stated value for both my 89 and 97, $530/yr

With Geico I insure my 96 cobra and 2001 m5. Adding the m5 to my cobra added a little less than $300/6 months.

What's on your record? Any suspensions? How far did you say you were going to drive the car? Annual mileage? How many other drivers on the policy & age?
You can't compare the premium of one member to another board member. MANY factors are taken into account. Unless you have someone of the same age, marital status, same zip code, same driving record, same company...etc.
