Yeah, old schools make terrible daily drivers. Also, I'm no GM fan, but what's the aftermarket support like for a Skylark? If it's something that has to be restored, if they don't repop those parts, you could be paying out the ass for stuff like chrome and dash parts.

If you want to do a buick check out a 63-65 riviera. I wouldn't do a classic for a DD unless your able to bring it up to date and get it reliable before you sell your mustang. Also kiss your gas mileage goodbye because your going to be hard pressed to get good gas mileage out of that big boat. lol

If your willing to spend some money and turn it into a pro touring old school, it can make a cool daily driver. Otherwise, a stock old school wont make a good daily driver.

solid points about not have a old school as a DD. My neighbor leaves work when I do, and it is heelarious. He has to do hella stuff to his old school before driving off. Foggy windows, warming up... Makes me glad my old schools are not DD's...

Any money You save on smog will go out the door with the gas milage. You know what You have with Your ride and with the old school You probably have to do the busching's ect. on the front end which is expensive if You don't do the work Yourself. So bottom line is pick the one You will enjoy driving the most or if You know the dude see if He will switch for a week or 2? Also make sure the seal's are good and it does'nt leak any water inside & check for rust. I am sure You probably thought of all this stuff but thought I would throw it out there for Ya anyway's .

Absolutely. When the weather exhibits extreme heat or cold spells, creature comforts are hard to give up... Cold AC in the summer, hot heater in the winter, defroster, adequate sealing, and power everthing. No substitutes!
But a classic will turn heads like no other.
