Tko 600 for sure. I had I the 600 hp rated g force t5 in my 65 coupe with a 408w. Wasn't impressed for the 2500 price tag. I think drew from AED blew one up with less than 500ftlbs if I remember him saying right.

TKO over here!
I have popped the clutch @ 6k on 28 inch slicks, hung the front tires, power shifted every gear first through fourth, put 760 ftlbs through it, and still shifts and performs like when it was new.
I didnt want to keep buying 5 speeds, so promotion got my dead presidents and Im a happy customer. I love my TKO !

Sure the astro t5 guts are rated to hold some power but its still the weak stock casing. Put a t5 and a tko side by side; you can clearly see the difference and that will answer your question. Also 2500 for a t5 is pretty lame lol.

That video is definitely a classic, Ive probably watched it 50+ times lol.
Back on subject.. TKO 600's are known for being the strongest so in that sense worth the money hands down. I would drive a car with a Tremec before you buy, they are pretty notchy. Personally, I like how smooth the T5's shift.. Also I think TKO's are considerably heavier and absorb more hp's but I could be wrong.

Don't mean to jack your thread here but I kinda have a similar question...what else can be upgraded on the tko 600 just to be on the safe side when pushing power over the limit?

I picked up a MMR tko 750 from a member here. Should have any problems beating the shit out of it.

I have heard many stories about the TKO 500 and 600 not liking to be shifted at higher RPMs when they first came out, I even had problems with the original Tremec TKOs, when they first came out, back in the day. I dont know if Tremec has fixed this problem on the TKO 500 and 600s but I do know a few companies have offered to modify them. I do have an older modified Tremec TKO 2, I got this when the TKO 500 and TKO 600 first came out and nobody knew what to do about the high RPM shifting problem.

not sure how high of rpms, but I used to shift my old 347 3550 at 6500 with no issues at all.

I dont know if Tremec will give you a straight answer, I would call MMR, Modualar Mustang Racing, they did mine when they were X2C Motorsports.

If you have a motor spinning 7200 R's I would not put that through a t5. Also with a motor reving that high you better invest in a nice scatter shield if you like having feet.

you can buy synchros for it from modern driveline to shift above 6k. the guy that owns that is very knowledgeable and has videos on youtube to do it yourself.
