60hrs of porting. Does anyone realize how much work that is? Also keep in mind these heads have larger valves.
I don't know about other cafords members but for me time is money and a set of AFR 165s would be cheaper for me than what's in those heads.

thats a lot of work for those numbers because if you look he also up'd the intake valve a bit too. all that work when for a few more bucks a set of 165cc afrs would have blown that out of the water with a slightly smaller intake valve.

Dont forget about the 50 lbs of extra weight hanging over the nose of the car. If you cant afford aluminum heads then stick with what you got, but dont try to convince everbody about how great they are.If they were that awsome why would any company even bother to make aftermarket heads for them?

This makes me wonder, what costs more?
A brand new set of AFR 165s OR a set of GT40 heads + machine work + larger valves + 60hrs of air compressor power consumption + 60hrs worth of grinding/polishing materials (and I'm ignoring any opportunity costs associated with this amount of labor)
I think it's pretty awesome that the porter was able to get them to flow like that, but I also question the guys sanity.

^ Maybe the guy wanted to use stock heads to be a little sleeperish. Maybe he is drag racing in a stock class that only let's you use factory heads. Either way he put alot of work into them.. So I give the guy props for polishing a turd.

I'm sure the guy who did all this work realizes that it would've been a lot easier to spend the $$ on a nice set of aluminum heads. Sounds like he loves porting heads and did it to see what he could come up with.
You get what you pay for.. if you want a dope set of used aluminum heads then throw down $1100-$1200 for used AFR 185s. If you are broke as a joke then scape together $275 and pick up a set of GT40 irons. You should be able to hit 300hp with some moderate port work.
