I'm looking to get a small camcorder that I can bring around with me wherever I go. I really want something small so I can keep it in my pocket so I know I am limited to a few options. I have a dslr that I lug around with me, so to keep things easy, the smaller the camcorder the better.
Here are my options so far (just because they are about the size that I want):
1. Flip Ultra HD / Mini HD 2. Sony bloggie MHS-CM5 3. Kodak PLAYSPORT 4. Toshiba Camileo S20 5. SANYO VCP-CS1 6. Eastman Kodak Zi8 7. Creative Labs Vado HD

Right now I'm kinda liking the specs of the Sanyo VPC-CS1. I currently have a Nikon D40 and a few lenses but I'm kind of debating on selling it for a T2i so I can have camera/video all in one. I've seen the quality of the T2i and its insane coming from a dslr!

I would sell the current dslr body and get something that can double up as camcorder. It'll provide the quality you want, 2 in 1 device, and the upgrade won't cost too much.
But if you need a dedicated video recorder I would go with the Kodak from the reviews that I have seen. They handle low light conditions very well.

my buddy got the flip ultra hd to take videos of their baby, it takes more than decent video and has good battery life.

This would be ideal, but there are times when I want video and still images, so having separate would be better...plus, my wife can use the video camera while I use the dslr. But yes, getting a 2 in 1 would be the best bet in this case.

Thats weird, I heard the worse thing about the Flip is the battery life ![[Confused]](confused.gif)

I actually have a flip, but my brother has the zi8. I like his zoom and ability to take videos better in bad light. He used it to tape my sons hoop game and I used my flip. His vid came out tons better than mine.

Hahaha I feel bad for those kids!!!
The 720 looks really clear! How does the camera perform in 1080? Also, how well does it zoom? Does it zoom pretty far and is it able to focus pretty quickly? Also, it uses sd card for memory, right? Is battery life pretty good as well? Thanks!
