I had a '66 I shaved the handles on. I liked it. It was a cool mod and I had fun doing it. A lot of people put in poppers to help push the door open, but I found that the spring tension in the latch was enough to pop the door open a couple of inches, so I never installed the poppers.
Summit has the whole kit for 2 doors for $150. I was surprised at how easy it was to mount the solenoids in the door.

shave it...but please make sure you do a good job on sanding it smooth. I HATE seeing "clean" old schools that look all wavey when looking at them from an angle. What color are you going with?

I've always like the look of the 1st Gen Miata door handles. I've been thinking of loosing the factory handle and lock for a Miata one.

Here's what it looks like on a Mustang.

it all depends on what theme your going with .... i thought about it too on my 67 ...but decided that it looks way more classy with them on. i like the look with handles , no locks ... plus people know u have to have a switch or cable hidden to open them in case it doesnt open. i have and idea on where to locate that cable or switch , thats not in a usual place. pm me for more details. BTW ... i love all ur classics . and the Boss 338's will look perfect on it
