After I fix up a couple things on my coupe it's going in for paint. Now here's the hard part, the original color of my coupe was like a yellow/tan color(not sure of the exact name). It's currently black, I don't know if I should respray it black or put it back to original color? I was told the original color of my car is one of the rarest? It's a 88 coupe. Thanks for any input.

Is it rare though? I don't really like the color but if it's that rare I might be able to make it work.

Might be tropical yellow, which imo is one of the most putrid colors to ever grace the sheet metal of a mustang...

I advise spending the time and money to paint it the color you find least attractive, as this makes the most sense to me.

Thanks that will help alot. Just gotta wait until my brother gets home with the car and I'll check the VIN. I think the tropical yellow will look great with the right stance and rims.

If you dont like the tropical yellow, DO NOT REPAINT IT A DIFFERENT COLOR. Sell the car to someone who will appreciate it cause it is extremely rare. Get your money and build some other POS and respray it candy apple green or whatever the new cool ghetto color is.

The guy before me painted it black. I want to paint it back tropical yellow just because of how rare it is. Get your facts straight before you say something.

i don't care how rare a color is, if the color is poop, and its still just another regular cookiecutter 5.0, rare and mustang is an oxymoron, (except for a few special mustangs, aka, saleens, shelbys, cobra r's) are considered rare

I'd have to agree! Even if the color is rare, foxbodies in general ARE NOT RARE at all. Plus, if the color is ugly (like that tropical yellow), then tehre's probably a reason why it's rare...because no one wanted to buy it
What will make your foxbody "rare" to others is having some custom/original touches that know one has done or can imitate. For isntance, STREAKMATT's blue foxbody...yes, its a foxbody hatchback, but its "rare" to a lot of people because of the color, the wheels, teh smoothed-out moldings, etc. I personally think that you have to do something completely original in order for your foxbody to be considered "rare" and non-cookie cutter

If shit was a rare color would u replaster your stang? Don't go with a color for the sake of having something rare but rather go with a color u like first and the whole rarity factor would be an added bonus. Color swaps won't detract from the value as long as u do it right by painting the car apart
