Hey folks- haven't been here much due to the move to Kansas and upgrade training to the new (old) plane, so I thought I'd update and say hey- the jet itself is unbelievably easy to work, coming from C-5's. I'm working on the KC-135R Stratotanker aerial refueler. These planes are 50+ years old and yet have literally no time on them, due to sitting during the Cold War era, so they are actually in great shape...considering their age. I'm currently working as a flight mechanic on these, which is a total blast. Got to take my first trip out on one to Alaska this past week. Here's a few pics of the "fun" I had...
My new "office"...
My jet against the Anchorage IAP backdrop...
Refueling a F22 Raptor...
Fighter Jock wanted to race...I told him we'd go for distance, not speed..and see who wins. He declined...
Enjoy the pics. I'm off to Hawaii on Monday for more "work"... ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif)

Good to see an update John! Looks like Kansas isn't treating you too bad. Tose things are probably a bit more reliable than the C-5....

Do the guys in the f22's or any type of fighter jet do flybys at mach speeds? I would die to see that in real life. Better yet if you could take video that would be bad ass!

I know they're busy folks volunteering their time to help others out. It's selfish of me and others who make their task more time consuming and difficult than it already is. In fact I should either chip in and help out or not participate at all. I'm going to do my best to be part of the solution and not the problem from now on.

there's a window in the back for getting a clear view of the boom to make sure you get hooked up to whatever vehicle you're refueling.
