I know this isn't the normal 5.0 runner but it's quick and different! The big thing was getting past the smog nazis. I did it! Had to go to the BAR ref.....twice but he finally certified it! Had to go for the dyno and sniffer test twice also but it passed today with flying colors! Now I'm legal and the PD can't touch me! This puppy cruises like a dream. Handles quite well with an 8.8 TC rear w/3.55's and fat sway bars and stops on a dime with 4 wheel discs. Haven't had the motor dyno'd yet but I'm expecting 350+ in the hp department. Oh yeah..........30 mpg!
The coveted BAR certification.
So very, very clean!

That is a clean little car! Let's hear some details on the motor, mods and the swap. What did you do for a wiring harness? I miss my 86 SVO, but it went to a good home.

Thanks! Tapped into the existing wiring harness. Swapped in an LA3 ECU out of an '88 TurboCoupe and repinned the connector. The motor is .030 over w/Crower rods, Wiseco pistons, balanced, blueprinted, reworked head by Boport, Bob's log header, manifolds are ported, upper is rotated and gutted, ranger roller cam and tons of other stuff. Click on the 'Check out Thunderstang' link in my sig for more.

So 350 wheel from a turbo 4 cylinder huh..
That's pretty sick and original. Got any videos of it running?

That is one clean 4 banger. SVO turbos make those 2.3's go like hell. Really nice car. Thanks for posting. You just don't see fox bodies that nice any more.
Thanks,
