What is proper etiquette in wearing one. Can I wear a beater underneath or is it proper to wear a long sleeve? The event starts in the late afternoon and into the evening.
I can't wear anything over it right? It's a formal event and I don't want to look like a douche and wear it improperly. Here's what it looks like for those that don't know what it is. I'm wearing a black one but not the one pictured.

the proper way is wearing a shirt that compliments it.
Preferably a shirt with that looks similar to this.

Thanks mang. I was hoping I could just wear a beater or a regular Hanes shirt because that's what I already have.

Any button up round neck would work short or long sleeved, I've seen a lotta folks wear regular hanes tees too. U do have the advantage of the black kind tho, u can wear a plain black tee. If anyone says anything let em know Ur pinoy folks says its all good! Hahaha. if they wanna fight refer en to incredible hulk aka mike p. Lmao.

I've never worn one before but I see people just wear plain white/black t-shirts underneath. Should be fine.

For one of my homie's weddings, us grooomsmen wore Barongs. My homie's uncle wore one with no under shirt though! lmao! But ya, white tee works. I always wondered if the tee is supposed to be tucked in or not.

Good. I was hoping I could just wear a black tee underneath. I think you are supposed to tuck the undershirt in for a cleaner look.

I think you can just ebay them for cheap and I saw some websites called BarongRUS selling them for around 75-100 bucks. I know the price depends on the material that is used.
I am getting mine from my Aunt who is a seamstress in the Phillippines. She is actually coming over to the States if you want to get one custom tailored. I think her prices are 100-125 if I remember. I can get you exact details if you'd like.
I never knew they came in different colors and fades too. I'm about to get one more done for the weddings I have coming up also.

yes tuck in the undershirt. that black one is cool..i wore one for my wedding(not black) and made my white homies where them. they thanked me cuz a tux on a hot summer day is not cool.
funny how guy said he seen someone wear one without an undershirt...i have too that shit is funny.
for people looking for barongs...i got mine at tatak filipino in uc...but they closed now..i think there still might be one in daly city. im sure theres a few shops out there.

these days the hip way of sporting it is to just go w/ nothing underneath and let them pinays or nanays get some nip shots.

I'm sure you can find on in the mall or the small shops around Daily City for sure. If I wore one without an undershirt the barong would be glowing from my pale, white as rice skin.
