ok so i bought a hacked wii. its a soft mod. well i got the sd card out and on my comp no prob. now im trying to get the info off my external hard drive {that came with it} it has like 153 games. well im trying to get this done for a frined so he can have it also. i got his sd card all done. but i cant get my external hard drive to read on my comp. it says i have to format it {if i do it will erase all data} then i got to my comp to get to it and i tryed the enable thing, tryed to go and open it and checked all around in the properties menu for the drive {via usb is how the hard drive works} basicly i want to save the data from my hard drive to comp so i can save it to anter hard drive with out erasing,formating etc my own hard drive as it is the only one i have.
i think the guy i bought my wii from off craigslist. put like a lock or something on the hard drive so no one can re make it and re sell.
yes im doing it for a frined and im not making a damn thing. plus i want it for back up.
i get the promt when i plug it in to reformat i click canel then it says something like no data or cant view or something. but my computer does reconize it. i know there is data.
yes i have searched google and none of it really makes sense.
so any computer savy ppl pls help ![[Confused]](confused.gif)

I just did mine a few months ago and my computer tells me to format the drive every time I plug it in. Once I tell it to not format then the computer will find it. I'm in Rocklin, if you want to bring it by I'll see if I can get it to copy for you. I can also do the mod too if you need it done.

i live in WA. so that wont work. my system is modded already with the soft mod and it has wii flow. im just trying to read the files from my external hd that plugs into my wii. it wants me to format and i know that will erase it. ive tryed a few ways to view them but they all fail.
basicly my wii works fine and all my stuff is good. i just want to save it to my comp and then save it to another hd.
but my comp wont read my external hd.

What operating system do you have? I've got Windows 7 and every flash drive or hard drive I plug in it tells me I need to format it for some reason.
There's a program called WBFS Manager that will access the drive and allow you to add and remove games from the drive but I'm not sure if you can pull them off to the hard drive.

Dont waste your time.theres more to the process than just copying shit and hooking it up to your buddies wii.if you dont know what youre doing than you will brick his shit

i got it all done and figured out. that site listed above made me get all my games to read. i saved em to my comp. saved it to his hard drive. i also saved my home brew and all. so it should work
