So the weather is getting a little nicer, looking for good places within 3 hours of the bay area where I can go camping and take the boat out on the lake. Use to go to Berryesa but I heard everything is closed now, and then Del Velle but you half to keep the boat speed to a minimum of 15mph. Any recommendations, hows Lake Turlock, Camanche etc?

my uncle was at camanche earlier this week. said the water level is perfect, but still cold. should be nice during the summer though.

Don Pedro (huge House boat lake), Camamche, Berryessa, Mcclure, clear lake all are pretty fun. Don Pedro and Berryessa where my favorites out of the 4 or 5i went to last yr. I didnt get to hit Mcclure but i hear if your big on watersports(no not those kinda water sports cochino's ) like tubing, wakeboard and such mcclure is a nice nice place to go. And camanche was fun but water was low and it was 100+ degrees when we went last year and they dont have much shade there. We had to find a bridge to hid the boat under for shade. good to hear the water levels are back up. when we went they were at like 60% water levels if i remember correctly... Modesto res. Is nice , good size and it's not too expensive. Camp sites have electricity and a water spout but toilets and showers are with in walking distance.

Past few years we did Spanish Flats, but I think they are closing that. We may be trying Bear Lake or something like that. Shit I forgot I had jet skis until I saw this thread. Gotta go get em out of storage.

tulloch is a good party lake but it gets super choppy and is not great for skiing or boarding from my experiences

+1 for the truth. It's a fun lake to relax at, but there's about ~15 minutes of good wakeboarding/skiing water at dusk, but before that like Fifty said, it's huge chop.

lots of waves and shit. Make for a uncomfortable jet ski experience IMO, because I cant swim...lol. And you are almost guaranteed to be thrown off.

If you go to the Barrett Cove at McClure, they have a man made lagoon area that had a little beach area and some bbq grills.
