What up! Looking for a Data Center Technician for a mid size / growing company. Here is the job posting mumbo jumbo:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Customer equipment and circuit installation. Investigation, resolution and closure of all troubles.
Monitoring and maintenance of facility, including power, HVAC, fire detection/ suppression, local security and monitoring systems.
Escalation and emergency response requests from Switch and Data Customer Call Center in a 7 x 24 x 365 environment.
Assists other sites in start-up, customer install set-up, and troubleshooting of circuits. Augments neighboring sites during vacation periods.
Maintains site computerized circuit record databases and service order systems.
Responsibilities and duties may change, expand, etc. Flexibility and the ability to adapt is a must.
THIS IS WHAT I'M REALLY LOOKING FOR:
-Basic Telecommunications knowledge of data circuits (T1, T3, Ethernet, OCn) -Fiber Optic termination a plus -T-BERD, DLW, OTDR, Fluke test set experience -relay rack/cabinet installation experence in siesmic zones -ability to work in a team environment -ability to lift 45lbs -ability to use power tools -ability to learn and adapt at a fast pace -ability to travel in a moments notice -ability to rent a vehicle if traveling for the company -reliable transportation to and from work -microsoft office efficient -good customer service experience -good track record for attendance -"can-do" and "whatever it takes" attitude
Position is in Palo Alto, but the ability to travel to San Jose and Sunnyvale for assistance with build-outs is a plus.
wages range from 52k-55k depending on experience. Full range of benefits including 401k, medical, dental, vision and Paid Time Off (PTO). Position is for Dayshift M-F 8-4:30 but there is a possibility of that changing to a swing or even a grave shift when it's all said and done.
Don't hit me up if you're lazy, think you're way is always right, never want to work with your team, can't own up to your mistakes, call in sick every now and then because your tummy hurts and definitely don't holler if your looking for a laid back, slow paced environment.
I've got a bad ass team and i'm looking to add another strong link to the chain. i aint no daycare so i don't have time to hold your hand and constantly remind you to do what grown folks do....which is handle your shit and provide results.

yeah i don't think my 67 would be too happy with a 20 hour daily commute!!
