By "protection for the house" do you mean you want to buy a gun?

Last time I checked, the Ford Mustang was definitely not on the top of the list for most commonly stolen car in the USA.
It's tough to find up to date statistics, but this can give you an idea:
http://www.auto-theft.info/Statistics.htm
It's Accord, Camry, and Civic that tend to roll. Mustangs hardly ever make the annual top 10 list.
But we also have to consider that the Bay Area is always in the top 5 metropolitan areas with the highest # of stolen cars. So its especially a good idea to take some precautions.
Also, if you normalize for the number that exist, I am willing to bet that modified 5 liter Mustangs are certainly high on the list however. [ April 11, 2010, 06:26 PM: Message edited by: Luke87GT ]

a gun isn't going to protect your car from being stolen,it can get you in tons of trouble though, lets say a thief comes at night and attempts to take your car.You run out an shoot him, being that he is most like unarmed you get tried for manslaughter/murder and end up going to prison or worse you end up getting into a shootout and yourself or one of your loved ones ends up getting killed.
best way to keep your car from being stolen ~decent alarm/gps tracking ~kill switches /ignition/fuel ~block your car in at night ~park in a locked garage/behind a gate ~scribe some identifying marks on your parts, initials and dl number or last 4 numbers of your ss number. ~vin etching your glass
Remember if a thief REALLY wants your car they will get it,they will catch you off guard or just drag you out of it at a stop sign or red light.

Agreed Phonso. IMHO, the best thing you can do is make it difficult for them. Thieves are opportunistic just like the rest of us.
How many people here have had their car stolen? Probably many.
How many people have had their car stolen who had an alarm, a kill switch, some physical anti-theft device like an Autolock, parked in a garage, etc... Probably not many.

I was reading about crime statistics the other day and LoJack was mentioned. The book stated that ~2% of the population has LoJack installed in their cars, but they've noticed that an increase of 1% of cars with LoJack tends to decrease auto theft by ~20%. Pretty cool

+1 for Lojack. It's probably the best protection you can buy. 9 times out of 10 a stolen Mustang is going to end up in either EPA, Oakland, or San Jose. All three have their patrol cars equipped with Lojack sensors.

Why would you give him the car before he payed it off? I had a friend who wanted my old fox really bad but didn't have the cash.I let him make payments but didn't give him the car till it was payed off...
Cant you report it stolen?

So what's your incentive to not spit his name out?

I was moving the next day and couldnt take the car with me where i was going...too far. Also, I was young. Expensive lesson I guess, but one I won't forget. I tried to report it stolen but the police can't do anything because it was basically a non performance of contract or non payment. They told me to go to civil court but couldn't do that for some time. I recently tried to locate him but as far as i know his house had foreclosed and his shop was shut down. Again, expensive lesson to learn young....trust no one....even with a contract and title still in your name. Its prob parted out by now anyway since he cant register it.

His name is AARON DIXON....his member name is something like 87TTopMustang i think, its been awhile.
If anything, I just hope no one else on here gets burned by him. My good friend posts on here and has told me that there are a few unhappy people with him on this board. I will try to upload a photo of the mustang and maybe somebody has seen it. Longshot, but i guess you never know.

Well just remember that if you shoot him, make sure you bury him somewhere else. Hey no body no case. Make sure you are gone before the cops come. Easy enough!!! Make sure u and your dad have the same story. Ah, yes officer, heard some shots nearby, don't know what happened.
