The night before last my wife was out doing some shipping then came home with dinner for the both of us. About 15 min later she got a call from the bank asking about some purchases that were made on her card. Someone in like St Louis or some shit like that had charged over $300 three times to her card at a Walgreens, 3 charges in a matter of minuets and they tried for a fourth right after that! I guess they are putting these devices on ATM's at AMPM's that get all your info when you use it. We actually contacted the Walgreens loss prevention people and got the corporate office involved in finding out made the purchases. Since the purchases were made within a couple minuets of each other and were made at two different Walgreens stores they had to have made more than one card. Just a heads up to everyone, this shit is going on so hopefully you don't become a victim of it. So far we have checks out there to pay bills that haven't cleared, even our rent is going to be late because of these thieves jacking our money! ![[Mad]](mad.gif)

Damn that sucks. I hate frauders! Actually, I once had someone get my account info and cash a check for 1500 in my name, left 500 in my account, and took 1000. It was cool to have the extra money but it wasn't mine, so I called that bank.

I know that they had the card readers on two AMPM stores and they were here in Rocklin, one on Stanford Ranch and one on Sunset Blvd. This was happening several years back in Roseville too, my girlfriend at the time said our number got skimmed and money was taken but she was a liar so I think she took the money out herself and blamed thieves.

I don't bother using my ATM. I use my Mastercard for reward points and just pay it off at the end of the month. All other bills are paid through Bofa bill pay. I think it's better because I can always contest any fraudulent charges as opposed to someone cleaning out my account and having to wait for the bank to do something.

what sucks is the stuff these thieves are using can be bought at radio shack. At least make the stuff harder to obtain.

That's why I get cash from a legit ATM, and use that. I don't use my ATM card anywhere else. Or, I just use credit, which has more fraud protection, so you don't have to pay if it gets stolen.
Also watch out for Paypal, don't give them your bank number. I know people that had fraudulent transactions taken right out of their account, and Paypal won't cover it. Buyer beware.
