It is huge and is on a lot of land but is in the boonies in a orchard. Aside from that culture shock, it has a septic tank and well water. My question to ya'll that have experienced this type of living how is it? Is it expensive to maintain? Does it stink? Supposed to clean the septic about every 7 years. What kills septics is a lot of food going through the garbage disposal. Try to compost more often. Get it cleaned before you move in.<br /><br />You will never notice a properly maintained septic at a house, doesn't stink. Now does it only have a septic tank without a leach field?<br />If it has sit for any amount of time going unused they tend to have problems once in service again.<br />As far as well water goes, I think you just get used to it. Some wells have awesome clear great tasting water, that you can lather up in the shower with.
