Topic: Pics from my busy weekend...

Some of you know that I'm active duty Air Force. Last week, I'd gone into work just like any other day...when the bosses ask why I was there...instead of on my way to San Diego for the MCAS Miramar Airshow. I used to fly as a flight mechanic (aka Flying Crew Chief) for a while and I've been filling in for them when the need arises. This was one of those times. ![[Big Grin]](biggrin.gif) So I hussled home and packed for the long weekend. Here's a few pics- enjoy!
Here's the plane set up, it's a 1968 Model. One of two in the world, as it's modified for a specific type of cargo.
Here's the 3rd Marine Marching band...they wanted to march through the plane.
Shade was at it's prime...
What I spent my sunday afternoon doing...flying with the Blue Angels.
And my nights...

What's the plane modified 2 carry? So the cockpit (haha..... cockpit) lifts up and over the plane?

That C5-C is crazy big. does it carry tanks and armoured humvees? And How long of a runway does it require to take off? must be pushin 10billion horse power.

It's modified to carry a specially sized container that is the same dimensions as the payload bay for both Delta seris rockets and the Shuttle program. There isn't a passenger compartment in the rear of the aircraft like all other C-5's.
And actually just the nose flips up, the cockpit stays put. ![[Wink]](wink.gif)
