I have a heads (Afr 185's) and cam 347 and was thinking about putting an S trim on it. My current cam I believe is something like a 242/244 on a 108 with 584 lift. it currently makes (depending on what Dyno I am on ) anywhere from 360rwhp to about 380rwhp and 385TQ My question is, should I get a blower cam from Hi-tech or should I stick with the cam I got? any guesses on how much i might make with a blower? depending on boost; you should be well over 500RW probably closer to the 550 range.. that cam is a little on the large side; I'd sell it and go custom....
My old cam was over 600 lift and it was meant for a blower setup....now I have a much smaller cam for my Cobra and I'm sure it will probably make more power too.... [ September 16, 2009, 10:54 PM: Message edited by: jordan_0806 ]

i just quoted you on it yeah with the 108lsa you are going to be blowing boost out the exhaust ports, you need like a 112lsa

Yeah, that's closer but most blower specific cams are 114lsa, not that a 112 won't work. I'd say get a custom ground cam, you'll be happy with the results I'm sure.

and s-trim with that combo will put you in block cracking hp range regardless of what cam you pick. I'd leave it if you like the how it drives now.

I did"nt even think about that. How much power can stock blocks handle?

Anything over 500 HP is pushing it with a stock 5.0 block

450-500rwhp. it'll handle it, it's just a question of how hard you drive it.
