Except for the fox and the lightning, everything else in that lot not worth a damn. The program is actually getting alot of junk off the street. A lot of people dont like to admit when the government does something right for a change.

I think that the government is doing a good move its not like people dont take completely good cars and part them out for more money anyway. If your smart you will take care of what you have if you want something new do what you want with it as long as you get paid. This program is actually working wonders Ford has actually seen an increase in sales numbers lately and thats good news.

This comment is a joke right?
Where is this cash coming from? Our pockets. Also how much of our tax dollars are going out of the country?
Why not bail out other industries while we're at it?
It's not right for the government to try and smooth out recessions. The government needs to let the corrections happen otherwise big problems happen, just like the one we are in now... [ August 06, 2009, 06:34 PM: Message edited by: 90FoX ]

This program is under funded... One of the reasons people are finding out their car no longer meets the criteria... They are planing on taking the motors out so car dealers don't sell the trade in clunker.
One thing did come put of this... Toyota is selling more cars then everyone else so thank our gov for letting the big three only take 45% of the new cars being bought with the program.
If you could have turned in your car to get what ever you want I would have turned in my car.. Seeing as I would have to buy a hybrid or some other higher mpg car then my escorts
I would have bought a new mustang or truck if they would have let me.
Just heard 2 billion more passed for this program to... Buy toyota stock their numbers will be up.

this program isn't what it was supposed to be. it was intended to get ill running/gross polluting piles off the road. now, it's my good running car that gets under 18mpg shall be traded in so i can get a highER mpg car. while those less fortunate people/owners of crappy cars should be given the good trade ins to get the piles off the road. bassackwards if you ask me.
1 high note, the focus is the top selling new car. way to go FORD!! f the imports... [ August 06, 2009, 09:19 PM: Message edited by: 93ReefBlue5.0 ]

A lot of imports are built in the U.S. giving American's jobs. But I'm willing to bet the profits still head back overseas...
Even though it was to get the gas "guzzlers" off the road, I think there was an element of attempting to stimulate the economy as well. Either way I just don't think it's worth the money. Let me keep my tax dollars and I can spend it much better than subsidizing someone else. [ August 06, 2009, 09:22 PM: Message edited by: 90FoX ]

Also, these people are driving crappy piles of junk for a reason, because they can't afford the payments for a newer car. Anyone else sense another housing market type crash only with the automobiles from this Cash For Clunkers crap? [ August 06, 2009, 10:53 PM: Message edited by: MustangNate ]

The repo man is gonna be busy. You are right about the payments.... It's harder to repo a car then a house unless you live in a moble home.

The program doesn't make sense. Put a working car in a crusher to buy a whole new car.
The whole cycle wastes so much resources for a couple thousand dollars.
Why not increase public transportation and eliminate new cars going onto the road to save pollution?

You're right. That fox was junk. I dont see anyone on the board paying more than $600 for that. The person that turned that in made out like a bandito!!
