In all honesty on CL you need to start high. Who knows, it might be he doesn't really want to sell it but if the right person saw the ad he might be able to get the cash for it. I think it would have pulled that a couple years ago when the coupe's were the hot thing.

$3k For a clean ass coupe??? The car looks straight & clean to me, & it has grey interior. The only downer is the automatic, but sometimes getting an auto car is better because you know 9 times out of 10, it hasn't been abused....

If it was an immaculate stick notch with bolt ons it might go for 5000-6000.


Let's put this into perspective.

I sold my 90LX forged 347/TKO aluminum driveshaft 31 spline 2k miles on drivetrain, almost new paint, $2,000 rims with new nitto fronts and drags 410rwhp and in the 11s

$7,000 when the economy was better. That took months to do.

The appeal of these foxes is "bang for the buck." If that goes, people start looking into more expensive platforms imho.

With that said, these cars are absolutely dirt cheap these days. If a car is well built with attention to detail, there are still people out there who will pay top dollar, but you may have to be ready to ship out of state.

I sold my 93 coupe back in March for $12,000 just as another point of reference. It took approximately 3 months to sell but this car had attention to detail (Real attention to detail, not cafords attention to detail )

A very clean 87-93 notch will still fetch $5-7K, even in this economy imho. But you have to market it appropriately. I am truly in awe sometimes how bad people can be about selling a car... Just pathetic.

One reason that these cars are so cheap is because there are so many of them out there and they are so beat to hell. I find that a lot of people are willing to start with the $2000 fox and build it up, not knowing that it will cost 2x as much to make it look like the $6K car that they would have started with in the beginning.

For $6-7K, you can have a 96-98 Cobra or a 99-04GT, which brings down the fox prices even more.
