Thinking about maybe purchasing a 2003 cobra, but was wondering if non california cars might be a little faster than the ones here in california. I know 49 state motorcycles are a little on the faster side. My cousin has a 2004 lightning from texas and just seems to run a little faster than your average lightning. Is their any truth behind this, or is it just a myth?

When I bought my SS back in 04 it was from Texas and it was a freak compared to other LS1's for only having an air/cutout. But most vehicles are made 50 state compliant anyways, so I doubt that it would make much of a difference if the smog equipment differed by a little bit. I'm going with its a myth lol.

There's no difference between Terminators sold in states outside of CA. My 98 came from Kansas, came CA smog compliant, and the dyno confirms it to put down average hp/tq #'s.
