Heres another lightning fire i went to. You can see where the lightning wrapped around the tree if you look closely.
All these fires are around my station in Sierraville, CA off 89 and 49. All we've been doing for the past week is getting there at 7am and chasing lightning strikes and putting the burning tress and surrounding vegatation out until 9 0r 10 at night.

I've been doing it for 2 years, this is my 3rd year and I am on a handcrew this season. 2 years on an engine, next year I will be on helitack and then I might try out to be a jumper.

Maybe I might see around this year Dana! I know when the fires are blazing I make money too. It's good money, but at the same time you kinda feel bad cause some of the fires can be so distructive!

Its possible, i'll let you know when i am going to big fires. We our crew just joined up with a Fire Behavior Analysis Team (FBAT) and they travel all over the USA setting up sensors infront of Wildfires. They film it and everything so if they get called somewhere they are going to name request our crew and we're going to do the same. They did a lot of tours in Montana last year.
